No way this is a UV umbrella. That’s why I bought it, but it’s really no different than a regular umbrella. Have to hold it at angle to make shade, because it’s not wide enough to actually cover your arms etc.

I like the functionality of this umbrella. It has an opaque black fabric that completely blocks the sun. It has what looks like it will be a durable frame and a good auto open and close button. The handle is fairly comfortable for a compact umbrella, compared to some I have had that were hard to grip- they were so small. I like the wrist strap and the weight of the umbrella is decent. I did notice that the coating on the handle which makes gripping it easier wore away rather quickly; it did not stand up to oily sunscreens. I would still purchase it despite this. Also, my daughter accidentally broke the cap off the top of the umbrella, trying to make it compact by pressing it on a solid surface (which is how I taught her to do.) It just slipped on the surface and the cap came off. Lucky I bought three of them, one for me and one for each of my kids, so she can use the one she broke. Other than that, I think it is a good value and fair quality for a decent UPF, sun blocking umbrella. ... show more
