I developed an umbilical hernia as an adult recently, and fortunately or unfortunately, it is not large or symptomatic or consistent enough to require surgery. So, we are just monitoring it and keeping an eye on it. I started looking for things designed to help with hernias since there are days it flares and is a bit more uncomfortable than others, and I luckily found this belt! It is nice and wide so it's comfortable and reminds me much more of a back brace than a belt.. so very nice multifunctional potential! I love that it has that removable and 3D Circle that I can place literally anywhere that I need the pressure to help the hernia. I was afraid that having to add that in would make everything feel too tight and compressed and uncomfortable, but that is not the case. I can definitely wear this under just a t-shirt at any time with no worries or concerns. It seems high quality and definitely fulfills the need and function. If you have a hernia that you are either just monitoring or trying to make more comfortable while you await surgery, I definitely recommend this purchase! And as an added bonus, after the hernia is no longer an issue, you'll have essentially a free back brace! LOL

I unfortunately got an umbilical hernia this year, out of the blue. To say it is one of the freakiest feelings in the world is an understatement! Fortunately or unfortunately, it was not large or symptomatic enough to require surgery and is just in the monitoring phase. I was looking into things I could do to help for comfort in the meantime when it does flare, and this belt is perfect! It's nice and thick as far as with but not as far as actual fabric thickness, so it is much more comfortable than expected. And having the removable Circle that I can place exactly over the spot that needs some pressure on it is brilliant and has been so helpful. I can completely control the amount of pressure, tightness, Etc. If you have a hernia, I absolutely recommend getting this.. but even if you don't have a hernia, I can absolutely Envision just the belt itself being used, without the removable Circle, as a sort of back brace for extra back support and for holding everything in!

My doctor said one of these might help a problem I have that is not a hernia but a small pocket of pain between my navel and hip that was there before my hip replacement as well as after. So I ordered this in advance and am glad it is now mine! I wore it (and wear it) as directed and thinking it was a waste for me, I was happily surprised to find it helped! And is still helping! I used the button with the belt and that actually made my issue feel better, It is suspected to be a hernia of some kind but does not have the protrusion making it so, But it feels better no matter what. As it is versatile, I can use it without the button as a very low-level brace when I am walking for my physical therapy and it is quite comfortable. This is great quality, should last for ages, and recommended.

This can be for hernias or just overall support for the back and torso: and finally someone made a thin brace, which could be worn under a T-shirt or sweater (perhaps too bulky under a dress shirt and suit), that isn't just a few inches wide! This is great from the rib cage down to the hips, wherever you need to keep things pressed in.

The Pucka Umbilical Hernia Belt for Men and Women - Abdominal Support Binder with Compression Pad - Belly Button Hernia Navel Ventral Epigastric Incisional and Surgery Prevention Aid is a decent enough back brace/hernia belt, but it does have its flaws. First, the good. 1. It's extremely thin and lightweight, making it perfect for wearing underneath clothes. It's not exactly comfortable when you do this. A layer of clothing between the belt and the skin will probably be preferred, but it can be done. 2. Since it's thin and lightweight, if you put it on correctly it's also comfortable, or as comfortable as a compression belt around your torso can be. It's very stretchy to allow for different tightnesses. If you've got it on too tight, just loosen it, and vice versa. 3. The included hernia compression pad is a nice and necessary touch for an item like this one, but it doesn't necessarily have to be used for hernias. It's also good for back support if you feel you need it. Putting it in the arch of your back can be pleasant. Now the bad. 1. This item is in drastic need of some vertical support to keep it from rolling up and down. It wouldn't have been difficult or too costly to add some stiff material every few inches to prevent rollups. As it is, the near constant need to readjust this item severely limits its usefulness. This problem may only affect heavier people, but it is a problem that's going to keep me from using the item as much as I would have. Thanks for reading. Hope my review helped.
