    • Good hoist for the money but no instalation instructions or recomendations.
The one thing anyone who is considering buying this or any other pickup bed mounted hoist should consider is mounting. This one has no instructions or even recommendations for mounting. I mounted this one the best I could with the supplied parts but it wasn't strong enough. the first time I used it it bent the floor of my pickup bed. If you plan to get any pickup bed hoist your best bet is to attach it to the trucks frame if possible. Second best would be to sandwich the floor with to steel plates at least twice the size of the hoists base then bolt the hoist on top of this. I plan to do both. I bought this hoist for my pickup because it is short and will fit under my tonneau cover and the price was right. This being said it does have a couple of drawbacks. I mounted it at the side of the bed as is usual but it won't clear the bed side and therefore doesn't have 360 degree rotation. I plan to fix this by getting some pipe and building a removable extension to raise it up when needed. Another drawback is that it doesn't have the usual hand crank winch. This could make picking things up of the ground difficult. Again I was aware of this and have a plan to fix it. Aside from the items mentioned above it is a good little hoist. ... show more

Because of weak material of the box the shifting of the hydraulic jack pierced through two layer of cardboard. This made a hole big enough for the Jack handle to be lost. Also the bolts are too short and no mention that they are metric. Handle to make two trips to change the hardware and make a replacement handle for the Jack. Holes in the post don't line up causing the not to line up parallel with side of box. Grease tip is an odd size or doesn't work in my gun. ... show more

Paint is great once you paint it. Lol. If not, it has rust show up at the edges of all the welds after it rains. Lock pins do their job, but could definitely be better quality. I have loaded several things with no issue. Lifted the back of a pickup, so I'd say I'm going to have to make a heavier duty lift arm. Lol ... show more
