wow these are nice - I expected them to be after reading the reviews and I'm not disappointed - these are heavy duty and solid, and the slip cover is secure and easy to use update - we've been using these red-handled kitchen scissors nightly at the dinner table for more than a month and have been comparing them to 2 sets of J.A. Henckles kitchen scissors (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017FQFYL6) and a pair of Wustof Grand Prix Shears (https://www.amazon.com/Wusthof-Grand-Prix-Kitchen-Shears/dp/B00005MEI8) these red handled scissors work and feel just as good as the other more expensive sets I'm testing them against, I can't say one set works better than any other, which says a lot when you look at the price differences between them - these red handled scissors seem durable and well made and I expect each pair to last many years ... these look, feel and work like professional grade kitchen shears these are unlike anything Walmart or Target sells - you won't need to be replacing these every couple years

Purchased these on 11/26/17 and I absolutely love these scissors. I use one for meat (poultry, beef, and pork) and the other is used mostly as a utility scissor. Having the cap is a great idea because they are sharp so you do need to be careful and watch children if they are using them. With the cap you don't have to worry about puncturing your fingers or damaging the drawer or whatever you keep them in. I have never washed them in a dishwasher, just hot soapy water and I dry them immediately. I expect these scissors will last a very long time. Just arrived today and seem very nice, a little bigger then expected but not to big and I really like the blade protector, they seem very sturdy and feel nice and comfortable when cutting something. Putting the extra one in our motor home, also I loved the way they came packaged..easy to get out and came with a free extended warranty...a Great buy!!

These are very sturdy utility scissors and a good value for the price. I love having the caps to cover the blades--no more dings in my drawers from the tips as kitchen scissors are put away. They are sharp and strong and up to every task for which I have used them--my kitchen scissors serve double duty as utility scissors and are used for kitchen work as well as opening the occasional package or trimming flower stems.

I really like these scissors. They are really sharp and cut well. They even cut well on my credit cards that expired. The caps fit well and don't come off. I can tell these are going to last for a while and are not the cheap Walmart kind. I like that I got 2 people I keep one in the kitchen and the other in my office. Helps me from walking all over the house looking for my scissors.

I'm using them as garage utility scissors, and they seem sharp and sturdy and not to small for my XXL hands. They are not carbide steel, so if you cut through a staple you'll get a nick on the edge. The edge is acute (cutting) vs. more square (shearing) like a paper cutter. NOTE: When wiping glue from sticky-back velcro off the blade, be careful the edge doesn't cut through your paper towel. Min did! It's sharp.

I could not see or feel serrations anywhere on any of the 4 cutting edges on this pair of pairs of scissors. I have another brand of kitchen scissors with clearly visible and feelable little serrations on one cutting edge, and I like the way they cut. But my wife won't let me use the good ones for cutting non-food items, so I bought these. Very dissapointing, but they are so cheap and seem to cut well, I'll just keep them around. I also bought an even cheaper single pair of Kitchen Aid "Tribal Cooking" "micro-serrated" scissors, but they are virtually indistinguishable from the ones in this set of 2.
