  • This gadget has saved me a lot of cleanup time in making many meals.
Color: Lime Green Number of Items: 1
Previous to getting this product, I used colanders to strain the water from potatoes and noodles and grease from cooked ground beef. This, of course, meant having to wash and dry the colander. In the case of noodles, it also meant getting the bits of noodles out of the wholes or mesh of the colander. This Snap'N Stain strainer is so much easier to use and clean. It snaps onto different sized pans, and really holds tight. The first time I used it, I poured the water from potatoes into bowl in case the strainer let loose from the pan. This wasn't a problem at all. The strainer held tight and all of the water was drained from the pan. This strainer is so easy to clean because nothing sticks to it. Even for straining grease, a swish in soapy water and it's clean. This gadget has save me a lot of cleaning time when making meals, and I would highly recommend it. UPDATE 2/26/17 I have had the strainer for almost a year, and have used it at least 3-4 times each week. It fits all of my pots and frying pans except my 2 quart pot which it is a little to large for. I use it for straining the water from noodles, potatoes, and the grease from cooked ground beef. At this point in time, I don't know what I do without it. UPDATE 01/09/22: I have had this strainer for over 6 years, and it still works as well as it did the day I got it. Since I got this strainer, I have not used the metal or mesh strainers that food get caught in. This strainer is so much easier to use and clean. With strainers that sit in the sink, you have to make sure the strainer is large enough to hold the food you are straining. That isn't a problem with this strainer. If it fits your pot, it will strain the food that's in it. To-date, I have never had this strainer let loose from the pan. If it ever breaks, I would most definitely buy another one. This is the only method I use to drain water from pasta, ravioli, and potatoes. Cleaning it is so simple - rinse it under warm water and dry. I hope this review was helpful for you. ... show more

  • Simple, useful, durable, easy to clean - what's not to love?
Color: Red Number of Items: 1
Literally one of the best purchases I've ever made on Amazon. I've had this for over 5 years and it is still like new and is one of the most useful kitchen gadgets ever. Perfect for pasta straining, great for separating cooked ground meat from oil, great for straining large solids out of stocks (think homemade bone broth). Easy to clean, easier to store than a colander. Love it! ... show more

  • Can pour boiling water safely!!
Color: Gray Number of Items: 1
This strainer is worth its weight in gold!!! Pouring out boiling water was a 2 man job in my kitchen to do it safely. With this strainer, I can pour the boiling water into the drain by myself. I just recently tried it with angel hair pasta, not a strand escaped! Added bonus, it fits the rim of all my pots. Love it!!! ... show more

  • Buy it already! Easy to clean, easy to use. Takes up a lot less space than your colander
Color: Lime Green Number of Items: 1
My kids are currently in the Mac and Cheese phase, and they only want the one that comes in the blue box with the powdered cheese. Easy enough, but draining the macaroni is a total pain since I have to 1, get out my colander or 2, try the "drain the water through the lid loosely on the pot" trick. Option 1 requires tedious washing of the colander and then having to put it away since it doesn't fit into a drawer. I hate that process so much that I often go for option 2, which results in either incomplete drainage, or the inevitable loss of a few good noodles. Well, I'm happy to report that this little gadget solves my problems and makes making mac and cheese a breeze! The strainer attaches to my 2 quart sized pot easily and the clips are strong enough to hold on pretty tight. I wasn't sure how this was going to behave, but it's thick and made of good quality silicone and doesn't warp or slip out while I'm draining the water. It's also pretty easy to attach to the pot, even while it's full of boiling water. I wasn't sure how that was going to work and worried that I might burn myself, but that hasn't happened. It's no more dangerous than putting the lid on the pot. Once the strainer is on, tilt the pot and all the water comes out and the noodles stay in place. Taking the strainer off is easy, but a bit of a struggle because of the strong grip (which is a good thing since you don't want the strainer coming loose while you're draining). The strainer is easy to wash and rinse off, and takes up a lot less space than your colander, so I store it in my drawer with my spatula and whisk and other random stuff. I've also used this to drain spaghetti noodles when cooking for the entire family in my large 8-quart stockpot and it stays on that larger diameter pot pretty well. It also works on my 10 inch frying pan and 12 inch skillet. It's ingenious how this little thing will contort itself to fit whatever size pot or pan I throw at it and not let anything slip past it. Amazing. As others have mentioned, I've used this to drain the fat after cooking ground beef and it works great. I've used this for a couple months now and so far it hasn't warped, discolored, melted, or done anything except clip on to my pots and pans with a death grip and drain whatever I need. The only thing that this won't clip to is my cast iron skillet since it's too thick. Other than that, this thing will clip on to your standard pots and frying pans that are about 1/8 inch thick, even with a lip. Overall, very happy with this purchase. I wish I had bought it sooner. I initially thought $12 was a bit too much for some floppy silicone and two clips, but I've come to realize this is worth it. ... show more

  • Fun little gadget.
Color: Orange Number of Items: 1
What a fun and useful little gadget. I chose this silicone colander rather than the others because it has a slightly larger basket to hold the food back in the bowl. I believe this is 5 inches deep where other less expensive ones are 2-3 inches deep. This was slightly more expensive, but I think it does a better job keeping the food in the pan. This also comes in several difference fun colors. Good purchase and I highly recommend this colander. ... show more

  • Good... but could be better
Color: Red Number of Items: 1
While this does the job, it's a bit tricky to hook on the pot. Also, if you have a very large pot, say with pasta, when you attempt to drain, you will get some of the contents of the pot that slip over the top of the strainer (would be better if it covered just another 1" or 1.5"). I'm on the fence if I would buy again. I do use it but only with certain pots. ... show more

  • Best Kitchen Gadget Ever!!!
Color: Orange Number of Items: 1
OMG, where has this been my 50 years of cooking. I know silicone wasn't invited until recently but WOW! I just got this strainer yesterday and used it today to strain the hot grease off of bacon in my large fry pan. Worked like a charm. No pieces falling into the grease can, no hot grease on my hand, and I got more drained off than when just using something to hold it back. I will be using this constantly for vegetables, potatoes and ground beef. No problem with the high heat. Seems like it will hold up to a lot of hot items. Did need some readjusting to how I hold a pan to drain but it clip right off and back on fairly easily. The clips are sturdy, so you may need to use both hands to open them, but that could be because they are new. Best gadget in my kitchen ever! ... show more
