Every house needs a good pair of everyday shears. You can cut anything with these and they never need sharpening, probably. I say probably because I remember we had a pair of Cutco scissors when I was growing up and I don’t think my parents ever needed to sharpen them. They still use the exact same pair today. This particular order is for a friend this Christmas ... but, I've had a pair of Cutco Scissors for 5-10 years. They're fantastic. They're comfortable to hold and have a sharp cutting edge that doesn't seem to get dull. and are easy to clean. The design that let's the blades separate easily makes them easy to clean. I bought a pair of theses scissors 20 years ago I kept them in the kitchen and used them ALL the time. I misplaced them a couple of months ago and bought several pairs of "kitchen shears" that I assumed were similar. They were terrible! Theses are the best and I hope to use them for the next 20 or 30 years. They stay sharp, clean easily; useful for cutting up veggies or chicken:; cut flowers, cut up boxes or paper.     • Best Scissors I've Used (but not for extended periods of use)
I've heard great things on so many forums about these scissors and I'm only here to reaffirm them. Awesome scissors that are very sharp and good quality! I spend my days cutting thick tape and the Henkel and KitchenAid scissors just weren't.... cutting it. These Cutco scissors went through the thick 3M tape without any issue. My only qualm is with the hard plastic handles. Both Henkel and KitchenAid seems to be built more ergonomically with either a silicon or TPE lining. This is just hard plastic and really takes a toll on my thumb knuckle. Though, I don't imagine most people using these scissors are using them 8 hours a day, so I leave it as a non-issue. ... show more

I bought this for my daughter. I have this item for over 25 yrs and it still works like a charm. It always works on whatever I want to cut. When other scissors are struggling to cut, I use my Cutco & it works.
