I can't say enough good things about Nova products. We have a Nova transport chair with larger wheels that we keep in the car (the larger rear wheels are better outside and by leaving it in the car we don't have to worry about bringing dirt from the wheels inside), this smaller chair which is ideal for narrow doorways inside, and a Nova Zoom rollator walker for use outdoors. My husband is 6'3" and 190 lbs. and always feels that all three are sturdy and safe. They are super sturdy, have a beautiful finish, fold easily and intuitively, are lightweight, comfortable, roll smoothly, and have lots of nice features. The transport chairs have legs rests that are adjustable to fit his long legs and the Zoom rollator comes in four different sizes to accommodate all heights. It's no fun dealing with any type of disability, but high quality functional products like these certainly help. ... show more

This chair is wonderful. It's light enough to easily lift in and out of the car and so much easier for quick trips to the Dr. than loading my husband's electric wheelchair. Had only 1 experience where it was difficult to get it over a threshold, but it was a pretty big bump and I got it done by pulling the chair in backward rather than just pushing it forward. Hubby is 6 ft. and 175 lbs., but this rolls really easily, even up reasonable ramps. Have had no problem with the brakes holding, as mentioned in some reviews, but obviously am not parking him on a hill! ... show more

I had foot surgery and have to be non-weight bearing for two months. Our house is not handicap accessible, so my husband did a LOT of research to find a narrow chair that would fit through our bathroom doorway. He did have to take the door off, but now I have the freedom to move around independently by pushing with my one foot. It will hold up to 300 lbs., is sturdy, fits under the dining room table and I can do some kitchen work with it as well. We use it (thus the name, Transport) to go to Dr. appts., etc. as it is much lighter than the wheelchair. If you need an item like this, my husband and I definitely recommend this product!     • Flimsy. Not worth the money.

Bought this item to transport a family member from my car to doctor appointments. This chair looks amazing, but any threshold or minor imperfection in the floor causes the chair to abruptly stop, causing the person in the chair to feel every discomfort. You have to raise the front wheels over even the slightest rise. This is where the chair bends and twists. Only used this chair once. Felt it was very unsafe. Also there is no place on the back of the chair to put papers or needed items. This was far from the cheapest chair on Amazon. do I thought it would be quality. It isnt. Great product when used for its intended purpose - transport in buildings. I use it when taking my husband to doctor appointments. It folds up easily, isn't heavy and fits it the trunk of my car. He weighs approx 200 lbs, fits into the chair with no problem and it's easy for me to push. Chair isn't for someone to sit in for hours on end nor is it made for use on grass, gravel, uneven surfaces. I recommend you purchase a seat cushion for comfort. This chair is a compromise between light weight and utility as a transport chair. My wife finds the chair comfortable and it is relatively easy to push. I am 6'3" tall and the handles are a little low for me. The fold down handles and light frame make is easy to get in and out of the car, an important issue for me because I have my own physical problems. The downside to the chair's light weight construction is that it can be a little wobbly, at least when pushing my 140 lb wife across a bumpy parking lot. Lack of hand brakes is a minor annoyance for us but could be a major problem if you have much down hill to deal with. We run into that mainly coming out of store and into the parking lot. Without brakes it is important to take it slowly and carefully, and never let a child push if there is any grade change at all. The fold down handles do not feel all that secure going downhill so BE CAREFULL. We only use this chair a couple of times a week for short periods of time. If we used it much more than that I would want one with hand brakes, higher handles, and a little more stability. For our purposes it was a good compromise but this chair is best suited to the kind of light usage we give it. It came quickly and there was no assembly required other than snapping on the foot rests. It was as pictured and usable fresh out of the box. ... show more

Very Helpful! We used this chair to help give my Mother easier mobility during a train trip and vacation. It folded up to less than 18" (Amtrak's requirement) and we were able to hang her oxygen on the back of it. It was a little challenging to wheel over gravel, but that is expected. Overall it helped us tremendously! Amazon got it to us very quickly - well within time for the trip. It did not require assembly, other than a simple slide in and click for each of the foot rests.
