  • That's a lot of trees.
3 times as many cuttings as I was expecting! Is the success rate so low that you have to send so many extras, or are you just nice people? Either way I really appreciate the extras! Update one week later. 20 of the 27 survived. 7 never showed any sign of life in the week I've had them while the others are all booming. I was able to get at least one of each kind to grow except the ones marked coyote. Maybe I'll try to find that one again later. 74% success rate isn't bad. And I have no idea what I'm doing! I highly recommend this item. ... show more

  • EVERY single cutting sprouted !
received 3 of each type of Willow (27) plus one (1) extra Flame and every single cutting has sprouted.. i planted all cuttings of same type in a small container thinking that i’d remove when rooted and i would split them—the roots grow so fast they are now entwined and will need to be it’s own multi-trunk bonsai.. not sure what to do with so many, what a great problem to have ! (will try to get a better pic, these are about 4 weeks old) UPDATE: one of the smaller Flame cutting died but i was gifted an extra so i still have 27 plants.. still overwhelming, but in a good way :D 2nd UPDATE: a few more of the thinner cuttings turned brown and died.. we have had some CRAZY cold weather for SoCal so i think that may be the cause.. i lost all the small Flame cuttings but the large Flame cutting is thriving ... show more

  • Some have mold?
There are quite a few sticks that don’t have roots, hopefully they’ll eventually root I have them in water by the window. Also the top cuts are moldy on over half of them. Idk what exactly to do about that or if it’s safe. A few look good though and have some sprouts even.

  • Easy to start your bonsai collection
Great starter pack. I was scared at first that the cuttings would not respond the right way after arriving. I followed the detailed instructions and soon all began to grow roots. I received 3 of each of the bonsai from the pictures. That is potentially 27 bonsai you can end up with. One mistake I made was leaving them out one night when it was still cold and two of them suffered due to my error (blue container in the picture). I used a plastic three pot from dollar tree to temporarily start them and begin to grow more. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and can’t wait to see how they grow more and more every day. ... show more

  • Fun project!
They are definitely fast growing! The day after putting them in water they started growing roots. Leaves came soon after.

  • Buds starting a week after delivery
As advertised, these are Willow tree cuttings - 9 different with a think and thin branch of each type. Following the instructions, I dipped the ends in rotting hormone (probably not required for Willows, but why take a chance?) after making small wounds on the bottom to ensure the hormones would be picked up by the plant. I planted them in a mix of 60% perlite, 20% fine mulch containing sand, and 20% akadama. Kept them moist in a cool location. Within a week all of the cuttings are healthy and budding. ... show more
