Just received this tree and it looks very healthy it was moist when I opened it and very much alive no dead limbs everything is blooming nicely and it could also use a slight trim. A warning! Buying one of these trees is a real risk. It arrived seemingly healthy and well packed but, despite the best care we could give, it gradually dropped the majority of its leaves and now it’s a pathetic barely alive specimen that we will soon discard. We called the seller and they said water it more and that we have lost our warranty because we had placed it in a sunny location but inside. She said it had to be kept outside at all times. We won’t return it, even though we are within the return window, and pay that shipping cost plus the shipping cost of a replacement even if they decided to send us another. They said they wouldn’t anyway because we kept it inside. It’s a big disappointment as we bought it to commemorate our trip to the west coast redwood forests and we definitely can’t recommend this seller. Btw, there are practically no instructions for how to care for it but a tag that identifies it as a dawn redwood, keep in sunny location, water when soil begins to dry and protect from temps below 20 degrees. In conclusion, buy if you’re tempted but if your experience is like ours, prepare for disappointment. ... show more

Super impressed with the quality, size, shipping and value of this tree. Came very full and healthy which made for a fun prune. The pot is solid as well. Definitely make sure you do research on the specific species because their “outdoor bonsai instructions” are more of a general rule of thumb

I received this as a gift about a month ago, and I was so excited! It came out of the box in very good shape, and I love the ceramic pot it came in, although the dirt is packed very, very tightly. There really wasn’t much in the way of instructions - just needs sunshine & water. I did watch several Dawn Redwood bonsai videos on YouTube, but I must’ve done something wrong… branches are browning and drooping. I just don’t know what to do, and it’s too late to return it since it’s been over 30 days. ... show more
