Bought this about a year ago, it works very well and doesn’t hurt at all. Sometimes it can smell a bit like burnt hair which just tells me it’s working! However about two months ago or so my device stopped working. It turned on, but wouldn’t flash. I contacted Ulike customer service, and they sent me a replacement! The process was super easy and they were very nice. I’m so happy with their support as I really like the product and didn’t want to have to repurchase. 5/5!

I am a 35 year old woman with genetic hirsutism that can grow a goatee better than my husband. It started when I was around 14-15 years old and I’ve shaved every day since. Before I purchased this device, I was shaving 2x per day and STILL getting a 5 o’clock shadow with makeup on. I was so depressed and going to a clinic was too expensive.. This is my first update and I am about 5-6 weeks in. After my FIRST use, the hair stopped growing as quickly and I was down to shaving 1x per day! I still can’t believe how fast that happened. The hair still grows gradually slower. After about 24 hours, the hair is at the length is was previously after 6-8 hours. I only know this because it was truly SO embarrassing. Sometimes I would take a razor to work and shave in the afternoon in the bathroom. Not only is the hair growing more slowly, there is less hair. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m only 1/3-1/4th of the way through the recommended amount of time. On a different note, I used one of the first FDA approved devices about 10 years ago and it hurt like crazy! I feel barely anything with this device. Every now and again I will feel a slight rubber band like snap, but it really isn’t noticeable the device is very easy to use. Also, I did not have any issues with the device being pre—used like some people reported. But, I also purchased the warranty just in case! Can’t wait to again right now, I recommend this device and it is completely worth the money if you were in the same spot as I was/am.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose this product because of its promised cooling technology. I also appreciate how sleek the design is. Both of those features have certainly delivered. I use the max setting on auto flash, and I hardly feel a thing. It really is great for my sensitive skin. The only downside is that I am just now seeing results- and its showing as patchy parts in my arm pit. I have been consistently flashing after I shave at least once a week, aiming for twice a week. The photo here is where I’m at after letting my hair grow out for a week to show what I mean. I would recommend if you’re looking for quicker results, consider incorporating it more frequently into your schedule than it suggests. Obviously testing out your reaction to it for the first few weeks as recommended, then going from there. It is obviously working- but for me with thick, dark, and course hair.. it has taken a while. I wish I told myself to be more frequently with it sooner. I am now letting it auto-flash on the freshly-shaven spot multiple times before moving the device a bit and I will be doing so more frequently during the week. If you’re looking to do your legs, armpits, private area and etc.. be prepared to commit 20-30min of your time to doing so (with legs definitely taking up a majority of that time). However, if you are committed, it is a great alternative to having to shave more often. I have experienced no pain or rashes. The only pain sometimes is having to close shave immediately before doing the IPL. Definitely consider using an aftershave to reduce ingrown hairs and such! I bought this on sale for $200 and find that price point worth it!

I have been using this for about 5/6 weeks, and it performs as promised. It’s a slow process, but I think it’ll be worth it in the end. In my experience, the treatment is not painful at all. The cooling technology is very nice and helps it not be so hot! I have been using it on my armpits and bikini line because the hair there is dark brown, and my skin is pale. My leg hair is blonde, so it says it probably won’t work in that area, so I haven’t bothered. The hair in those other 2 areas is definitely growing in much slower, and it is noticeably thinner. As of right now, I will still get stubble after about 2 days, but, like I said, it’s much thinner. I was doing treatments every other day for the first 3 weeks until I noticed the hair growing back more slowly. Now I’m doing treatments every 3-4 days depending on the regrowth. Consistency is key for getting results, so I’m making sure to stay on top of it. Something I didn’t read at first, but IS in the fine print is DO NOT use this on tattoos. It can burn you as well as damage the tattoo as it is targeting dark pigment under your skin. I got just a tiny part of a tattoo with the laser in my first treatment, and it hurt. Tattoo is fine, thankfully. But read all the instructions carefully before using!
