These are absolute garbage! They turn brown within hours of putting them in the spa/hot tub. I had just cleaned and put fresh water and a new filter in my spa, added the scum sponge to the fresh water, came back a couple hours later and it was brown! I thought there was a problem with the water so I changed the sponge, and again it did the same thing! Changed the water, put in another new sponge and again within hours (2-3) it was completely brown. I believe they are using the wrong type of material for the sponge. Not worth the trouble to return . The first day it does job Turning brown in first 15min. Didn't bother me after second started breaking up on trying to wash out. If left in over a in tub it will disintegrate and plug filter. Sent messages to seller no response back.

I have purchased products like this in the past, with that being said, they have never disintegrated in my hot tub before! Very disappointing and what a waste of money. Back to tennis balls they work best! And recycleable
