My son wanted this for his room because he always misplaces his keys so we gave this a try. When it got delivered, we installed it and it was working but a couple days went by and we noticed that when you enter the number passcode, some of the numbers wouldn’t work. Maybe we thought the batteries we put in were no good so we switched them and still no change. We even reset the doorknob and still didn’t work. I’m thinking it was as a defective one. That’s why I give this review a 4 star. I contacted customer service for a replacement and they sent me a new one and it works great, no issues at all. I would totally recommend this product. I was actually shocked how high quality this lock is given the price. The materials are heavy duty polished metal and the lock feels and looks fantastic! Installation was super easy for me, it was a direct replacement and I didn't even have to replace the receiver plate (Strike plate) on the door frame. I just took the old lock out, and put the new one in. It has the ability to do different size doors and latch lengths, and comes with a pattern, but myn fit out of the box. TIP: I used the old screws to secure the face plate with the latch. This was to make sure I didn't re-thread the wood as the screws were different thread sizes. The original screws created those threads, so less damage to the wood threads. Physical security of this lock seems great, when it is locked, the handle just goes down freely on the outside, so someone can't just break it open. Electronic security of this thing seems top shelf as it's using standard smart lock protocols. You can use the standard Tuya app, but I use the very similar and popular Smart Life app. Fingerprint reading seems very good, we'll see how it does in the winter. Entering a code with the keypad also works great. And of course there's a physical key you can use on the very end of the handle in case battery dies, etc. And if you don't have the key, there's a USB plug you can supply external power from the outside to power it and get in. I used lithium AAA batteries instead of alkaline as they have more capacity and no chance of leaking, but more importantly they perform better in lower temps and where I have it can get chilly. I'll have to see if I get accurate battery low warnings. Sometimes devices will accurately give you low battery warning with lithiums but sometimes they don't as they're tuned to alkaline. Only time will tell as I expect the batteries to last many months. Note, this is a bluetooth only lock, not Wifi, so it's not online all the time and you can't unlock it remotely. I knew the going in, and don't really need that. But you of course can create different codes for different people with different expirations etc. I don't really use that either. ... show more

Bought two of these, one lasted about 45 days, then stopped unlocking. Reads the fingerprint and beeps like it’s unlocking but doesn’t unlock. The other is still working at around 90 days
