Easy to install and operate. It cooled a 340 sq ft room quickly. The unit can also be run as a fan or dehumidifier, or heater. The heater function hadn’t been tested yet but will as we move to September in the north woods. At $250 during Prime days the unit is worth it if it continues to function well. Update: opened the cabin today and turned on the heater. It gave only cold air and the unit iced up. Yes, the heater iced up the unit. It’s worthless as a heater. Will wait for the heat of summer to see if at least the AC works. Update on update: when the unit is properly vented all modes (heat, ac, dehumidifier, and fan) function well. I wish I could say better things about this appliance, but sadly it was a letdown. I bought this for my room thinking I would have a lasting A/C unit. But sadly, it broke four months after I bought it. I reached out to the manufacturer on the one-year warranty card they give you for the appliance, but they never reached out to me or even acknowledged it. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone, even with hopes for a nice cold room after a hard day's work. I will admit, however, that it did its job for the four months that it worked, and it did make my room cool, but I would invest in a better A/C unit from Home Depot or Lowe's; at least they offer a better warranty plan and actually keep their word rather than this company. ... show more

The unit works great and the price was really good. It's fairly quiet and does a great job. Because it on air conditioning mode remove so much water from the air I went ahead and vented it to the outside of the house with a small hole in the wall. I have been using this unit for a few months now and there have been no problems. I swapped it out with the slightly smaller unit (8000btu) we had in the living room and we can feel a big difference as soon as we walk in. It cooled the room down instantly and is about the same noise level as the smaller units we use. I have not seen any leaks and have the drain tube running out of the window alone with the vent. The remote is nice to have laying around but we usually tend to just use the controls on the actual unit. The only issue I have had with this product is the window vent which did not fit correctly into the windows we have and I had to pretty much make my own but I would not let this influence your decision on this product because we do not have windows like a lot of other homes so just because I had an issue does not mean you will as well. ... show more

This unit turned out to be exactly what I needed. There was a slight issue on the shipping end but nothing to do with the manufacturer. I think a lot of folks do not vent the machine properly to the outside. I have used it extensively in the air conditioning mode. Since my $23,000 central air /heating system failed. It arrived just in time for the warmest day of the year. I find it to be very quiet despite what other views may say. I am considering buying another one for the spare bedroom for guests. It's a great product and I wouldn't hesitate recommended for anyone. The unit I received was packaged very well. Therefore there were a few dents in the box but the product inside was intact. I had to replace my 15 year old AC unit. I decided on this one in part because it has a heating function. That means I now only need one device to control the temperature in my room for the entire year. The fan is fairly quiet, considering the unit sits only about 6 feet away from my bed. Not a complaint really, but the temperature setting doesn't coincide well with the temperature in the room. I set the unit at 74 degrees, and it keeps my room around 70 degrees. My only complaint is that occasionally, the "swing" setting (that directs the air flow up or down) decides to reset itself to blow air down instead of up where I set it. That dramatically affects how efficiently it cools my room. UPDATE: I took off another star because now that the weather is turning colder, and I'm using the heat setting, I have discovered that the unit uses a weird method to generate heat. It sounds like it's running the A/C compressor in reverse. That wouldn't bother me, except that in the process, it is also generating a lot of water condensate. I wasn't getting any condensate when running the A/C. When I empty it, I only get around 3 cups of water, so I have to empty the water 2-3 times a day, and it's not even really cold outside yet. The additional down side of that is that winter is already much dryer than summer, and with the unit taking even more water out of the air, I'm probably going to need to find a way to add moisture back into the air. Bought this for my 3 sided glass in porch that was 103° during the day! I set it on 64° and it will cool to 76° which is comfortable. I found out that if I run the ceiling fan it doesn’t cool as well. For some reason it works better for me on the low fan setting on the air conditioner than high fan. Because my windows are 73” I had to order another kit for the exhaust since it does not fit that size. My room is 16X14. ... show more
