I bought a 6'6" Ultra Light used. It came in packaged with plastic and tags looking brand new. The rod is good quality, light and very durable. I liked the Elite so much that I bought a medium 6'6" Elite. I tried the ultra sensitive all graphite expensive rods and I am done breaking the bank and my rods. I own 7 Ugly Stiks now and I dont think I will buy anything else. They just can't be beat! I put a Pflueger President on my medium for bass fishing and a Pflueger Trion on the ultra lite for pan fishing. These are great combos and I love using them. ... show more

As an average fisherman, I can't honestly say I need a $300 carbon fiber rod when this Ugly Stik does everything I need it to do. It's responsive and light, and the cork grip feels like the quality I expect from Ugly Stik. The only shortcoming in my mind is that the piece that attaches the reel feels a little less than high-end, but for $50, it gets you out onthe water having fun, so you can't lose. ... show more

Durability: This rod is strong. I never worry about breaking it. When i am snagged i yank as hard as I can until I come loose and the rod doesnt show any wear. I love that. I have a 2 piece 6’6”. The rod has yet to come apart while casting and it casts well. I paired this rod with a size 500 shimano sedona for an ultralight set up. They pair well. The rod is not as sensitive as my more expensive rods. For example: I dont feel my bait hit the floor when bait fishing, and it is hard to tell the difference between a large bite and a small bite. Everything just kind of feels the same. That being said, for 50 bucks you cant beat this rod. I love having a rod i can keep in the trunk and just hammer on without worry that the rod will break. I have caught plenty of fish on this bad boy and it looks brand new. ... show more

this new pole fits into my collection quite nicely. I had an extra real and needed a replacement for the broken hole it came from. Hence, the reason why I had an extra reel. It’s performance has been satisfactory. It has not brought me any more luck at my local pond, however.

Not only is the Ugly Stik not ugly, in fact it is one of the very good looking handsome rod. I ordered the 6' 6" UL which impressed me upon unboxing. It is sleek, have great balance and the Most amazing feature is the guide rings. The internal circumference of the guide rings are polish to a mirror shine. Just wish it comes with a rod cover, a simple one will do rather than packed in a thin clear disposable plastic cover. The rod feels good and it pairs well with my newly acquired Penn Battle II 2000 which I ordered at the same time here. Hope the rod lives up to its reputation of lasting many years if not a life time. Will comment more after some field tests. One thing about Amazon Prime is that they don't ship all model (length and action) of this rod (US Elite) to Singapore or I would have ended up purchasing more... ... show more

All four line-guide eyelets on the small piece of the Uglystick arrived severely bent out of alignment. This is the third product this month that I bought from Amazon that would be rejected by any retail store as a “second” — defective in some way. The others were a rail-mounted rod holder by Scotty that arrived without the bolts shown in the picture, and a roll of bead chain that arrive without the fasteners promised in the description. Amazon’s “helper” was no help — said contact the sellers. The sellers said “return it.” Prime needs to advocate for its customers by rejecting non-conforming or defective or second-quality products, instead of giving unscrupulous sellers a mass market of buyers with no option but to return the product. ... show more
