Amazing rod and I highly recommend it. I've been using it very aggressively the last year with nothing to complain about at all. Long review but worth a read if you're a fisherman looking for details. Shipping: The box was huge for the rod and everything came in great shape. I'll start by saying I never intended to use the reel it came with so I can't include that in my review. However.. I had wanted one of these for a long time and am extremely happy with it. I treat this rod as my universal species rod. It's been an absolute beast. Personally a 2pc rod is a must for trunk space. This rod also translates well in your hand. Every nibble or bite is felt thru the rod right into your palm at the reel base. I have missed far less fish since using this rod. Versatile is definitely the word to use with your lures on this rod. Spinners, spoons, jigs, rattle traps, swim bait, soft plastics, etc. I've had any trouble on a lure yet and I'm a bait fisherman by default so working a lure... Yeah I'm no pro, but this rod makes it easy to swap between lures all day on the same pole. My only complaint is I didn't buy two of them...yet. ... show more

I love the rod and reel, I’ve used Ugly Stik for a long time but ordering on Amazon is a shot in the dark. As many others have noted the item arrived missing the reel handle nut. I decided returning it was a hassle and just ordered the part for $5. I wish they would send you the missing item without returning the whole rod and reel and potentially getting a replacement that is also missing the hardware. ... show more

Love this rod and reel combo. No negatives. Good action on the rod and the reel is smooth and easy to use. Casts well. Used it all summer for pike and walleye.

Handle pin fell out due to poor craftsmanship of the reel. This caused the cover to also fall off. Handle is not re-attachable due to this pin being gone. This was reported in multiple other reviews - but I let the good reviews sway me. Don't make that mistake - because the rod is fine, but the reel is of very very poor quality. I tried reaching out to file a warranty claim. Phone number says to go to their website. Website lists their phone number. And around we go. ... show more
