This is my 3rd one. They are sensitive and have a lot of backbone. So far I've only caught stingrays but I hooked up with something big that nearly dragged me into the surf. Whatever it was completely straightened out a 4/0 hook but the Ugly Stik didn't miss a beat

It's a complete waste of money and a disgrace to fishing poles. I wouldn't insult my worst enemy or relative by giving it to them. The features you look for in a casting pole aren't there, you might as well have ordered the spinning pole because it's oddly the very same thing.

I love this rod! I got it as a catfish rod but it proved to be more versatile. I recently took it to the OBX and used it as a surf rod. Paired with a abu Garcia 7000 this thing is deadly. The rod has great action and is very sensitive.

All right. I purchased this rod right here on Amazon. And as usual, Ugly Stick does not disappoint. I purchased the 10ft casting because I do a lot of fishing from the bank. This rod casts 3 to 5 ounces of weight from shore with ease. Good backbone for larger fish. And the construction is top notch.
