The Ugly Stik Elite Spinning Rod delivers the toughness anglers expect, now in a lighter design with increased graphite for enhanced feel. Built with Ugly Tech construction, it balances strength and sensitivity, while Ugly Tuff one- piece stainless-steel guides ensure consistent line flow and eliminate insert failures. The Clear Tip design adds confidence when detecting strikes or handling heavy loads, and premium cork grips provide comfort through long days on the water. Backed by a 10-year warranty, the Elite is crafted to perform season after season. Fishing has gotten too pretty. Unscratched sparkle barges with nuclear-powered engines. Rods that act like skittish thoroughbreds instead of unshod workhorses. Fish pictures taken for ‘likes' instead of refrigerator doors. It's time to fish the way it's meant to be done, with tough, durable tackle built to provide ten whopper fish pics for every one of some dandy holding a fancy rod and a fingerling. • Have several ugly sticks all work fine
Love these ugly stick rods

  • A truly excellent rod
I was tempted to give this only a 4 star review due to the rod's sensitivity, but I just can't. I've landed many big fish on the 7'6" medium fast with 15lb Power Pro and a 3000 size reel. I love this rod. The abuse it can take is second to none. That's Ugly's trademark. You will not be disappointed with this. Just be sure to spray it down with freshwater after every trip. I have landed all the fish in my photos with this very rod. In my opinion, the rod paid for itself with my very first bull red. ... show more

  • Flawed two piece
The rod is great while fishing, but I specifically bought it for the two piece functionality which is totally useless…. Every single eye is on the tip section, so you can’t store it without taking the line completely out every time. Only way I can see to not do this is to reel it up until the first eye is tight up against the spool which is completely stupid and then it’s still 5’+ long. On top of that the tip piece is already significantly longer than the handle piece so you can’t store it in any way without the tip poking out somewhere where it can break. I really don’t know if they were thinking at all when they designed this thing. It’s a two piece rod that you’ll never want to take apart, so you may as well just buy the one piece. Update- the bottom part of the rod snapped clean in half. Piece of junk ... show more

  • Don't buy the 6 foot...the two pieces are different lengths
I bought this in the 6 foot and it is not like in the picture. I had thought that the two pieces will be like the picture which has the big guide attached to the main piece that holds the reel, but the big main guide is actually attach to the other piece; the main guide is attached to the second piece of the rod to the tip of the rod. This is not good because I cannot leave my baits on my rod when I am transporting the fishing pool. I have always bought ugly stick fishing poles because I love how tough they are, but over what I just bought is a flaw. Also by putting the main guide so far away from the reel, on the second piece, my line keeps slapping on my rod when I cast it and creates alot of wind knots. Very disappointing. One more flaw is that the two pieces for the 6 foot is not even. The piece that holds the rod is shorter than the top piece of the rod. This is again very hard for transporting because you have to risk breaking the tip of the rod everytime you transport it. I am not sure if the other size rods are like this but the picture is so deceiving. I would call it false advertisement, however, I do understand that maybe the picture reflects a 7 foot rod or above. If I knew this I would have bought the 7 foot rod instead. Sorry for the rant, but I guess now I cannot trust this brand in the future. ... show more

  • Not very sensitive.
For a rod that's listed for 10 dollars more than my other main rod, it's not nearly as sensitive. I can feel everything with my other 6'6" rod. This one kind of feels like listening to music with ear muffs on.

  • Bent blank. Dont panic!
Don't panic and immediately request a return! If your rods blank (section) seems to be bent, if you put on line and sink and/or lure the blank will straighten out. The blank only appears to be bent because of how thin the tip is, the rod I received had a curve in the tip to the right, but after I lined it and attached a lure the tip was normal. Long story short, don't eye ball the rod itself without it being fully set up as they will ALL appear to be bent! ... show more
