A quick disclaimer before I begin the review: This company sent me this product, asking me to test, and review it honestly. With that in mind, this review is my own and based on the value I would have paid at the time of purchase. Pros: It’s lightweight overall. Well balanced even when fully extended. The design of the head attachment looks slightly funny, but it’s sturdy. The lights are fairly bright, but not overwhelmingly so. Cons: Sometimes the zipper on the bag gets stuck. The lighting heads aren't the prettiest, but functional. The light intensity isn't adjustable, but this is not necessarily needed. Now here’s the full review: My first impression when I received this kit was how incredibly light weight it is. The light bulbs themselves aren’t even a pound each, and the bag, when repacked, is very light. The stands are also very tall. When I fully extend them, they hit my 8 foot ceiling. In fact, I couldn’t fully extend them in my room with the heads on them, because of how tall they are. In spite of this, the stands stay balanced even at full-extension because of how weightless the heads are. To top it all off, the bag is made of pretty heavy duty material, not something that would rip easily, and it’s portable. The brightness of the lights are fairly balanced . As a video editor and filmmaker, I don’t like having lights that are way too bright, that completely wash out someone's face. That’s why I like this kit so much. One light by itself is fairly bright, but not enough to make a larger shot. Two lights is the perfect balance for me. Not too bright, nor too dim. Also, the lighting is soft and uniform, perfect for greenscreens. For those of you who are worried about the heat that the lights give off, never fear, I am getting to it. The heat from the light bulbs is minimal, especially in comparison to other lighting sets. I would note that after about an hour of constant lighting, you will want to let them cool down. Finally, I’d like to brief on two small problems I had. The first problem was that the instructions are not very specific, although the setup is simple enough. My biggest issue with this, was that the lock, where the head attaches to the stand, its design is slightly odd and cheap looking, but it works surprisingly well, and is satisfyingly sturdy. The second, was also very minor. Concerning the bag, when I open or close it, three times out of five, the zipper gets stuck on the inside flap of fabric. The sewing job is perfectly fine, but they left a little bit of extra material. After a small amount of finagling, you can move it freely again. Really though, it’s just a bag. In conclusion, this set is incredibly impressive. If I ever need more lights I will definitely buy this again. Whether you’re interested in filmmaking or photography, this lighting kit is a worthy investment. ... show more

I got these because I am Running a photo booth at a party. I realized None of the lighting I had Would work for the space I will Be in so I got These! Tripod: the tripods are made out of metal and they are easy to set up if you have ever set up a tripod before. I would recommend using something to stabilize them with if there is a lot of hussle and bussle (perhaps sand bags tied on there) because they don’t seem the sturdiest. Soft box: these are also easy to set up. If it’s not making sense, read the little instruction card! They open like an umbrella and you simply push the inner ring down to secure them open! Pro tip, you may have to screw the bulb into the socket pretty tightly for it to work. Bulbs: the reason for me taking off 2 stars; both bulbs I got With this did not work and I had To spend an extra $15 on bulbs. One was obviously broken and should not have been shipped as it was a factory defect (the box was torn and you can hear the components rattling inside the bulb.) I did Test this bulb to confirm my suspicion and it is indeed broken. The other bulb this kit came with did not work either but there were no obvious signs of damage so that one was likely a fluke! As other reviewers have said, it is hard to find exact replacements. Fortunately, you do not NEED to use exact replacements. You can get a set of eco saving regular LED 40w E26 standard base indoor bulbs and they actually work better than the exact bulbs that come with this kit in my opinion since neither of the original bulbs worked. Since my event is tonight, I do Not have time for a return so I had To just get different bulbs. This is why we test products before events :) ... show more

The assembly is easy yet slightly tricky. Once you figure out how to do one then the second assembly is easy. All in all, it took me about 15-20 minutes to set up both. Additionally, the lighting is bright and crisp. I’m not a professional photographer so the product works well for my needs and corrected areas of concern. Upon arrival, one bulb didn’t work. Contact was made with the seller or customer service for a bulb exchange. I was offered to return the entire product for a refund; however declined because I needed the item for the next day. A partial refund was provided. Day of use, the second bulb stopped working within 1 hour; two increments of approximately 30 minutes. Finding the exact replacement bulbs are difficult. I really like the product and may keep, if and only if, I can find light bulbs to replace with the same quality lighting. ... show more

Decent light system, but not fancy like the very expensive ones, but also not expensive at all. Also seems to be a good company. One of the bulbs was dead on arrival. I didn’t want to return the whole set as I was using one light already. I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement bulb, quickly, and everything was back to working. If anyone is looking for a replacement bulb, The lights only have an on and off switch, and height, angle adjustment. Nothing fancy, but it gives a nice soft light that gets rid of all the shadows, that is perfect for cameras. The bulbs are 40 watt leds, which is extremely bright and a good clear color, but the softbox and light does a great job of casting a very gentle, even light, covering a large area. Adding the diffusor makes the light very soft and easy to work with. The whole set can fold down into a decently small size, easy if you want to bring them anywhere, which isn’t why we bought them, but it might be helpful if we want to change the style of videos we make. The tripods that come with this kit have a very good height adjustment, and are very stable. Everything is very easy to use and understand, with very little work to get set up. For the price and the abilities this kit gives you, it is a great purchase getting started for more professional videos or photos. ... show more
