Having a flat bottom boat puts you in a differnt categories. Giving details helps other undertstand what they have. My flat 16' bottom is heavy. It's homemade & thick. I put a brand new Yamaha 90hp 4stroke. That gave me an extra 100pounds and the boat lost some stabilty when trying to mauntain good controls. Especially when turning and going full speed. This product was the first attempt to see what control it would gie my boat. I feel like it gave me a better hole shot and the boat feels a bit lighter and also feels like it is now riding on a differnt part of the boat when on plane from before I installed that product. Now, these are serioulsy pretty insignificat changes. But I think its enough to mention it. I lack the stabitiy I was after. Now to the next idea. But this is a decent product. The staicker looks slapped on and was already peeling. Not sure why a company would put a stivker on something like this. weird. ... show more

Sure was hoping I could install it and hit the water. Was not to be. Opening is too narrow for my motor by nearly two inches at the back edge. Using calipers, as well making a template from my motor showed I’d have to cut thru the back two mounting holes to make it wide enough. It says fits “most”, guess I don’t qualify. ... show more

This whale tail was so easy to install. It literally took 10 minutes. I installed it on a 21' ski boat with a 302 mercruiser and a bravo one outdrive. The boat has plenty of power but took longer than I would expect to get on plane. The new whale tail really made a difference. The boat gets on plane in about 10 seconds and when I trim the outdrive it feels more stable. I would recommend this if you don't have trim tabs and looking to improve the proforma of your boat. ... show more
