  • Great replacement straps for Finis Freestyler Paddles
Color: Red
Replacement straps came with 4 straps total, so if I need to replace them again, I have a spare set. Since the Finis only have a finger strap, these are plenty long, and I actually cut a bit off just because I felt they were too long. Happy to have new life back in my paddles.

  • Perfect elastic strap replacement on a Finis Sculling Finger Paddle.
Color: Navy
I have a Finis Sculling Finger Paddle (which I think is no longer available). I like it because I can use it on all swim strokes and the smaller size is easier on my shoulder. Sun, chlorine, and time finally caused the original elastic tubing to break. The original elastic tubing is thinner compared to other swim paddles so finding a similar one was difficult. Since the finger paddle elastic tubing is similar to “surgical tubing” which is available at most hardware stores, I was able to find one with the same diameter. The only downside is that the “surgical tubing” is more elastic and so it’s more difficult to tighten down. This allowed my middle finger to sometimes pop out of the paddle strap while swimming. I decided to buy the TYR Silicone Hand Paddle Replacement Straps. Surprisingly, the cost was almost the same as the “surgical tubing” that I had purchased at my local ACE Hardware Store. When I opened the package, it was immediately obvious that the TYR replacement straps are much thicker than the original Finis Sculling Finger Paddle straps. I thought threading the TYR replacement straps was going to be a challenge since the Finis Sculling Finger Paddle straps holes are narrow. To my pleasant surprise, it took very little effort to thread the TYR straps. Given the thickness of the TYR replacement straps, they should be more durable and much less elastic than the “surgical tubing” or the original Finis paddle straps. There will be some excess in the length so you will have to trim it down. I would, however, leave about one inch to 1.5 inches as excess. This allows you to grab (with teeth or fingers) and cinch the TYR replacement straps tight. The excess paddle strap length is not noticeable when swimming. Overall, I’m very pleased. I would buy again. ... show more

  • Love them!
Color: S - Yellow
I have these in small and medium. I’m a very experienced swimmer. I love them! If you have smaller hands or are newer to using paddles I’d start with the smaller sizes. They work really well with training for proper technique. I have used many different brands and I love these ones. I also recommend measuring your hand and compare to the size chart. ... show more

  • good stuff
Color: Blue
Compared to just 'surgical' tubing which I previously used to replace the straps on my paddles these slid into and held place considerably easier. Would buy again.

  • I really like these paddles
Color: M - Red
I've recently gotten back into swimming and decided I need my own equipment. I saw a couple good reviews of these TYR Catalyst paddles (from Olympic athletes, among others) so I decided to give them a try. I am a big guy (6'2" and 210 lbs) and I wouldn't go any bigger than this for myself but maybe if you are looking for to do shorter power sets the really big paddles would probably be good for that. At first the Medium size felt too big but now that I've gotten stronger over a few months I have built up to doing 1000 yards pull set and I'm just tired at the end. If you are a smaller person or want to do speed sets you probably want the smaller sizes. I might buy another smaller set at some point for speed work but the Medium size is working great for me on the endurance sets right now. ... show more

  • Straps a little short and yellow color is more greenish
Color: FL Yellow
On the plus side, the replacement straps fit nicely into my old paddles (i.e. the thickness of the straps was good) BUT as others have noted the fit on the strap is a little tight if you have a larger paddle and want a wrist strap - if these were an inch longer it would make them much more usable. Also, they yellow color is actually somewhere between green and yellow, and they look a little silly with my red paddles. ... show more

  • Satisfied
Color: Blue
I bought these to replace the straps on my Speedo Hand paddles. Although they are very different from the originals I was able to make them work. The color is nice and they also feel okay in the water. Some improvement I would like to see is perhaps for TYR to lower the price as they are very overpriced, to the point that one might be better off buying new paddles. Additionally, I would have liked it if they made them a little longer so they can go through more holes on the actual hand paddle. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Would recommend. Thank you! ... show more
