--This is a very high quality tool that is well made. The feel of it promises to be durable over time like my other TYMO tool that I own has been. The variable temperature settings give you a better chance of minimizing damage while straightening your hair. --That said, for my hair, (coarse, dry, wavy, frizzy, thinning), I had to turn it up high to get my hair straight. It is likely that my hair is not thick enough to stay gripped near the hot plate, thus decreasing the straightening effect. --So, I am just as well off with my jumbo hot air brush, which is also a high quality TYMO tool. --TYMO, by far, makes the most well made, well designed hair styling tools I have ever seen. Thick, tangle free, long cords, ease of use, tight fittings, quality plastics (don't "melt" over time), quieter than others, etc, etc. After wasting a ton of money on other brands, I am a dedicated TYMO customer from here on out.

Very happy with this purchase - Heats up quickly - with a few creative head gyrations and using a comb over technique I was able to achieved a good result operating it with one hand (non dominant hand btw). Purchased this because I needed a styling tool I could manage single handedly following total shoulder replacement surgery. Did I mention I'm a "righty" and I have been using this as a "lefty". I let my hair "air dry" and called it good. Next day I decided to give the straightening brush a go. Per the chart provided in listing, my hair is 3B. Did it take me a while to complete the task - Yes. Was I happy with the result - Yes. The density and number of bristles made ALL the difference, as I truly simply used it as a brush. Didn't damage break any hair - didn't burn my scalp or fingers, the cord swivels and didn't get bunched up like some do. As other reviewers stated, itis a bit weighty, but I feel that contributed to a good final result. Put it this way - if the result was good with ONE hand, imagine how great it will be when I can use both again!

This one replaced the first TYMU I bought 2 years ago. For some reason that first one stopped working after 2 years. I used it once a week, based on that experience, I expect to get less than 100 uses out of this one. I can overlook this issue because it only takes me 15 minutes to straighten dried hair, and my hair is “Puerto Rican curly”, it leaves my hair shiny, not dry or brittle like i experienced with other products.

I have thick curly hair and it frizzes like crazy! I used this and honestly my hair was straight in less than 2 minutes! It typically takes me 15-20 minutes to straighten my hair and if my hair is longer its even worse. I highly recommend this straightener! It leaves your hair soft and it easily straightens as it brushes! Love it!

I am not sure if the brush was returned and then sold again, but there were strings of hair in the brush when I opened the box. I did not return it because it wasn’t damaged and worked just fine after I cleaned the strings of hair out.

Before purchasing this one, I had a different brand that I purchased from a well-known beaty supply. The teeth started breaking off. This Tymo cost 1/2 the price of the previous one, it's smaller and more durable. I've used it several times on my daughter's thick, coarse hair and the teeth are still intact. I love it.
