I have thick hair, and depending on the straightener, I often need to go over the same sections multiple times to get the smooth, straight look I want. Because of that, I was a little apprehensive about ordering this one, expecting similar results and extra time. Thankfully, it proved me wrong and actually worked much better than my current one. What I really like about this TYMO straightener is that after blow-drying my hair and applying my heat protectant, I only needed one pass per section. That alone saved me a lot of time since I didn’t have to keep repeating the same areas. It left my hair straight and silky without any pulling, which was another concern I had going in. Beyond performance, there are several thoughtful features I find to be very helpful in the overall straightener. It has a nicely balanced weight without feeling heavy, heats up in just a few seconds, and even beeps when it reaches the selected temperature. It also locks closed when not in use, which makes storage and travel much easier and avoids having to wrap the cord around it. The blue lights on the side are cool, and the temperature controls are conveniently placed on the side for easy access. There are a couple of things I’m still getting used to. For one, it only goes up to 430°F, whereas I’m accustomed to using 450°F for my coarse hair. Also, the temperature display is located on the inside. Neither of these are deal breakers, and overall I’m very happy with how well this straightener performs.

I already own a few TYMO heat styling tools, so I went into this straightener with pretty high expectations, and it did not disappoint. This is very much on brand for TYMO: well made, thoughtfully designed, and it works exactly the way it should. The first thing I noticed is the design. It feels sturdy but not heavy, and the longer plates really do make styling faster, especially if you have thicker or longer hair. I’m able to straighten larger sections at once without having to go over the same area repeatedly. What really stands out to me is how gentle it feels on the hair, even at higher temperatures. I genuinely believe the hollow plate design makes a difference when it comes to reducing damage. My hair feels smooth and looks shiny after styling, not dry or fried, which is always my biggest concern with heat tools. The heat up time is quick, the temperature settings are easy to adjust, and the straightener glides smoothly without tugging. The floating plates adapt well to different sections of hair, and the frizz control is noticeable right away. Overall, this is exactly what I expect from TYMO. High quality, effective, and designed with hair health in mind. If you’re already a fan of the brand or just looking for a reliable straightener that delivers smooth results without unnecessary damage, this is an easy five stars.

This is a really nice hair straightener! I’ve been using it every day since I got it. It’s easy to use, and it’s the perfect size to fit comfortably in your hand…it glides smoothly over your hair, and curls with a flip of the wrist. It makes my hair look smooth and stylish. It heats up SO much faster than my old straightener…I timed it, and it only took 42 seconds to fully heat. It has a soft pulsing blue light as it heats, and the light turns solid when it’s ready to use. There is no light when it’s off, which is a great safety feature. I especially love that it shuts itself off automatically after 30 minutes…another huge safety bonus. My only minor complaints are that it occassionally snags my hair, and it’s too easy to lock into the closed position. The lock is located right where you hold the straightener, so i lock it 2 or 3 times by mistake each session. It would have been best if they had made it a little more difficult to slide into the lock position. But regardless of those minor inconveniences, I still really like this straightener, and would happily buy it again!

TYMO 2.0 Flat Iron Hair Straightener really makes it so easy and quick to straighten your hair. The long length makes it easy to straighten a big amount of hair at a time. My hair just glided through the plates and came out sleek and straight. It's not too heavy considering the length and not hard to maneuver. What I also like about this flat iron is that it is impossible to burn yourself. I can grab any part of the outside and not burn myself because of the hollow design. For someone who is clumsy this is a huge plus. I did try curling my hair and my hair kept slipping out. My hair is slippery I guess. It is definitely easier to straighten than curl with this tool for me. The design of this tool is kind of cool. It has the blue lights on the side. The temperature display is inside rather than on the outside of the iron. I can't decide if I like that or not. You can change the temperature using the on knob. You can twist left or right. There is no accidental shutting off or changing temperature. If I had to point out one negative, I wish the cord was a bit longer like their blow dryer brush.
