No. It uses a clamp-on, pre-assembled design and typically installs in about 10–15 minutes with basic hand tools. What is the T3 made of? Updating this review several years later... I'm amazed at how well this cover has performed. I've had this thing on my truck for just under four years, and honestly it looks as good as it did from day one. I live in the northeast and I don't baby my truck, and this thing has held up amazingly well. I've taken it on long road trips, I've accidentally slammed it down on loads that were taller than the bed more times than I'll admit, I have to tell my 50+ pound six-year-old to stop climbing on the top of it about once every other day, and it's been buried under snow countless mornings. Honestly I kind of want to upgrade to the T5 just because I kinda want to switch to a hardcover... but this thing is in such good shape I can't rationalize spending money on a new one. This one still works and looks as good as it did when I bought it. And it still takes all of ten seconds to flip up or down, and all of about three minutes to remove or install. If you want a soft trifold tonneau cover, I seriously encourage you to give this one a shot. My original review: I was planning on spending far, far more for a tonneau cover, but the overwhelmingly positive reviews here and on various forums elsewhere convinced me to give this a shot. It took me less than an hour to install, but most of that time was spent just kind of looking over all the parts and fiddling with it and making sure I had it lined up properly. The fit is really excellent, and it looks great on the truck. The corners popped up a little bit at first as a few others pointed out, but that was only noticeable from specific angles, they sat down within a day or two after the vinyl stretched a little. It's been rained on and driven at highway speeds in the rain, and I haven't seen any water in the bed. I didn't have to use the weatherstripping across the front of the bed--the weatherstripping built into the cover sealed that quite nicely--but I did cut little like 2" strips and apply it to the front corners of the cover. The foam bits on the corner of the cover seemed a little too short, and when I dry-fit the cover, there was light coming through. So that took all of three minutes to cut, apply, then re-place the cover. Again: it's been raining pretty much since I put the cover on, and I haven't seen any water in the bed.

I bought this cover 3 years ago and it has been the best investeent in my 2023 6ft bed Tacoma. It was fairly easy to install; it took my about an hour or so but fit my truck perfectly. It's been great at keeping my stuff dry and is completely out of the way when rolled up so I have full access to my truck bed. Tyger's customer service is top notch. There was a small tear in the vinyl three years after owning it and Tyger was incredibly responsive and replaced the cover for free. I would purchase without hesitation again.

I highly recommend this product. Originally purchased in January, was initially impressed but never got around to write a nice review. After driving home yesterday, through two hours of rain, and getting home to a bone dry truck, bed, had to sit down and write this. We drove through the rain at highway speeds, and at some points, 5-MPH-heavy-traffic-flashers-on, torrential-downpour-flash-flood storm bursts. Got home, opened the tailgate expecting the worst, assuming some of our unprotected stuff would be wet. Nothing. No water, not even in the corners. See pictures. I went from my 2010 Tacoma to a 2021 in December. Love it. Did not have a bed cover on the 2010, but wanted one for the 2021. I was overwhelmed by all the options, was not sure if I wanted a roll up, and trifold, or maybe even a hard cover. Thought I wanted a roll-up, but when a friend showed me his Tyger, I was sold. Said he had one on his old Tundra, and when he got his new F150, he ordered the same Tyger tri-fold again. Clean and simple, no additional hardware necessary, like with roll-ups. The ONLY thing I did differently from the instructions, which I assume increased my bed’s waterproofness, was to cut two quarter-round pieces of weatherstrip from the length provided. Hard to tell from the photo, so I drew you a little picture. I added these two pieces to the front leading corners, just to fill in the small gaps. I suggest Tyger add two pieces to their kit. Only other suggestion is to play with the tightness of the rear quick-release levers, to get a perfect seal at the tailgate: not so tight that the tailgate rubs on the weatherstripping, and wears it down overtime, and not to lose that rain and snow get in. Let’s review: • waterproof when installed properly • especially if you add the two little extra pieces • great value at $234 • highly functional • easy to use • looks great Unrelated, I will soon be installing bed lights, so I can see in there better at night time when the cover is on, and I also made and carry a 5’ hoe-like grabber stick to pull items back that have shifted forward. I just finished installing the cover on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. It’s a quick and inexpensive solution until we can get a cap. Install was easy and took about 30 minutes working alone. Adjusting the cover to fit the bed was another story. I lost track of the number of times I loosened it, moved it a bit then tightened it back down. I’d say 8-10 times. It took patience and ing the included weather strip to the front rail to seal the front. The repeated adjustments were to get the cover to cover the tailgate adequately. It only covers the front and back rails 1/2” on each end. The manufacturer could add 3-4” - 1” on the overall length to cover the front and back better. Otherwise the fit is great and it looks good too.

Update: 11.28.23 - Cover shows no significant signs of wear. No cracks or tears, and still steches taught. I keep it clean, and still wipe it down every other month with whatever vinyl protector I have at the time. The cross bar closest to the tailgate does stick sometimes, but nothing a good bop doesn't fix. 38k miles on it. Update: 11.07.22 - Cover is still performing as needed. I did lose the little rubber emblem on the back edge, and I have had to "tighten" it up once, but it is still performing as new. I wash it when I wash my truck, and wipe it down with whatever protectant spray I have lying around. 3 Florida summers and 20k miles including two 1k mile road trips, no issues. Update: 10.11.21 - still going strong. No fading with 100% exposure outside in Florida. I do make sure I wash it when I wash my truck and spray UV protected on it though. All seals are good and while still not 100% waterproof it keeps the majority of the things dry in my truck bed. /Update Relatively inexpensive, easy to install, and makes the bed water resistant. I chose the soft roll up because with it, I still retain the use of my full bed (which is already small to begin with). If I need to haul an over sized item (washer or other appliance), I can roll the top up and push the item all the way back in the bed. Trifolds won't let you do that, you'll always have at least a third of your bed covered, or can't see out the back window. In terms of weather(rain) resistance, it keeps enough of the water out. It is by no means water proof, but I'd say it keeps the bed dry enough for me not to worry about what's back there. I live in Florida, and it keeps the driving rain we get out of the bed pretty well. Speaking of Florida, it's held up to the sun fairly well, so far (3 months of 100% outdoor exposure). If I can get 2-3 years without it cracking or splitting, I'll be happy. Function wise, it latches strong. Locks will only keep honest men honest, but I do not worry about what's in the back. I would GLADLY purchase another should I need to.

After spending a week looking into it and considering various high-priced options, I settled on the Tyger roll-up cover, and it’s been perfect for what I need. I was after something that blended in well, looked sharp, and kept the truck bed dry. It absolutely delivers. It’s got a sleek look, and with an OEM mat, everything inside stays dry. Sure, there are a few drips in the corners occasionally, but that’s more about the Tacoma's bed design than anything else. It’s just a bit of water that drains off quickly, no biggie. I’m a big fan of how it rolls up, giving you full access to the bed without needing to remove the cover. Plus, if you ever do need to take it off, it’s super easy and quick—done in about a minute by one person. It’s lightweight, so no worries about it weighing down your truck, but once it’s on, it feels sturdy and keeps the elements out. Installing it was a breeze, too. The brackets fit with the truck's existing rails, and it’s definitely a one-person job, shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes. The packaging and instructions are straightforward, clear, and everything’s well-organized. Plus, there’s a bunch of helpful installation videos on YouTube if you need them. Just a heads-up, if you’re looking to protect tools and equipment, this might not be the best pick. You’d need to shell out quite a bit more for a hardcover for that level of security. But for many Tacoma owners, this Tyger cover is a fantastic choice. My advice? Don’t overthink it. Go for what you need, not what everyone else says you should get. This cover’s a great buy that’ll leave you with some extra cash for other upgrades. I’m really happy with it and pretty sure you will be too.

I had one on a Tundra for 4 years, was easy to install and after 4 brutal (as in Buffalo/Rochester snowbelt) winters, it still looked and worked like new. Are they 100+% watertight? No, but pretty close, factoring in the quirks of your own vehicle and your installation care. I don’t think I ever saw more than an ounce of water in the bed of the truck, regardless of the type of storm or angle of my parking. Additionally, there were times when there was an inch of ice built up on it, and it came through perfectly. It also withstood being parked at the outside lot of the Buffalo airport for a month at a time in January, 3 times. Again, perfect. It came with the proper hardware for installation on the Tundra. I just traded the Tundra in, and the dealer remarked that it looked like new, and he immediately ordered one for himself. We traded for a Tacoma. I liked the cover on our Tundra so much, I put one in my Amazon shopping cart for the Tacoma before we got the new vehicle. As soon as we got home, I hit ‘order.’ The new one came in as expected, well packaged and with all the hardware (even foam blocks to fill in gaps where Toyota leaves them in the bed) for this installation. It’s working just as well as my other one. Oh, and it looks nice. I would not hesitate, AT ALL, to purchase this again. I love it (as does my wife). MAY 2022 FOLLOW-UP Product installed for 1 year now and came through a brutal upstate NY winter perfectly, as did the other one I purchased years ago. I had a small warranty claim (a piece of plastic snapped), contacted the company through their warranty link, they responded within 12 hours and are promptly shipping the repair part free of charge. No hassels, no nonsense, no waiting forever. SUPERB SERVICE and an excellent product.
