  • Worth 5 Stars
These are great and deserve 5 stars, I gave it one star though so more people will read this Caveat, "Alexa only works in a few very limited countries". I live in Singapore and Alexa won't work on these, just get a message saying that Alexa isn't available in your location! SONOS should high-light this in their description, but they don't, hence I'm here in the one star section to hopefully warn others to check if Alexa is available on these speakers in your country before you buy. ... show more

  • Loving Sonos!
Absolutely love Sonos! I recently splurged and bought two Sonos Ones and two Plus:1's to replace an Echo/external speaker setup that I had in my house. Many people complain about not being able to stream over bluetooth to the Sonos but having come from that world, the way Sonos uses Wifi is so much nicer, especially if you have multiple devices that you want to be able to control the music from. I use Alexa pretty often but mainly the stock services...I don't use many of the 3rd party skills...so I can't comment on how the skills work or don't work. But I will say that the Alexa functionality on the Sonos One is on par with what I experienced on my Echo Dot. Sensitivity seems to be pretty much the same, speed of responses the same, etc. I also see complaints about the Sonos app...personally I really like it. They make it very easy to create playlists that contain a mix of music from a variety of different sources. But there are also plenty of 3rd party apps that will work with Sonos so if you don't like the free one, try one from a different vendor. The only thing I wish it could do would be to work with Siri instead (or in addition to) Alexa. But that's Apple's fault I guess...overall I couldn't be happier with Sonos! ... show more

  • Sonos One Pair
What can I say: these actually live up to all the reviews. Paired in stereo, wall mounted in a large front room they disappear and sound sound pretty amazing. However, not perfect. Alexa Voice commands with these can be tricky. I find myself shouting at them playing low volume music. If you keep the voice interaction simple and or use your phone, you should be fine. There is also not a very seamless Spotify integration that is evident here. All works, but not smoothly. Lastly, these little speakers were expensive. Are they worth it. Yes. I now have a single solve for home audio. Do they sound as good as your old stereo / receiver. No...but provided a sub ($700??!!) and a sound bar ($400??!!) and maybe a play 5 ($$$) to add to the mix. I think they will be suffiant. Note: Do not expect high volume, bone crushing bass here. Aside from that the speaker build is top notch. I even dead dropped one by accident. Solid, & unscathed. So, I you don’t mind spending some money, I definitely recommend them. These are excellence. ... show more

  • Overpriced and horrible customer service
The ONLY thing I want them to do is play music from my own library from my iPhone or Mac. I don't need or want them to do any other fancy thing. But they don't have a version without all the bells and whistles, so you have to take them and pay for them. Can't speak for currently but when I bought, Sonos customer (non)service was the worst of the worst. Enormous wait times and then you get people who don't even know their own product. Just one example: a Sonos tech guy insisted there was a setting on my iPhone that had to be tweaked in order for everything to work. But he couldn't tell me which setting. Huh???? We just looked and looked, couldn't find it anywhere. He said he couldn't help me further until I figured out which, and where, that setting on the iPhone is. Turned out, which my partner just happened to stumble onto, the setting isn't on the iPhone, IT IS IN THEIR OWN APP. Hard to fathom this level of ineptitude. ... show more

  • System is no longer reliable or worth the cost.
I have more than $2000 of Sonos speakers. For a few years I loved them. When they made us upgrade or are speakers would become bricks. I upgraded. Now less than 50% of the time when I want to listen to the system they have lost all of the speakers and it takes 20 minutes to make them work again. I am investigating replacing them all. I would not recommend anyone buy Sonos again. It is not my WiFi system I am an electrical engineer and all of that is fine. ... show more

  • I have had at least one of every sonos speaker since 2012- This is the worst sonos product.
Every other sonos product just works. These do not. The sounds is great on sonos, and you can read about that anywhere. The premium in price, to me at least, is the convenience and how things just work. The line-in consistently has problems. I figured it was just other users, probably like my parents, that don't use the equipment correctly then blame the product. That's not the case here. It is glitchy and it does not work. I foolishly bought two of these and gave one as a gift so now I'm stuck with it. The speaker is fine, but I would have been just as happy with the regular sonos 1. I believe this will have far reaching, negative consequences for sonos in the long term. As an early adopter of sonos, and then giving it a year for the glitches to be fixed on this device- it is fairly indicative of something wrong at their company. ... show more

  • Great sound, piss poor software interface
So we’re clear, I love the sound from this manufacture. In fact I already have two Sonos speakers and bought two additional ones to add to my home system. It took over 2 1/2 hours to add the new speakers. The system wouldn’t recognize the old ones, then it wouldn’t recognize the new ones, and it took forever to finally get it set up. I’m happy with the overall outcome. Spending so much timeIs really frustrating. One would think that they would have the interface streamlined so that would actually work ... show more
