The SmartLife app recognized the Tuya Smart IR RF remote control almost as soon as I powered on the device. That was the easy part. I made it work with an old Sony stereo receiver, Motorola video over IP set top box, Vizio TV and a fan. It took a while to set up the devices even though I have 3 other IR blaster devices that I have already set up in the SmartLife app. The IR output is pretty good, and I was able to control devices from a cross a 20-foot room. I did have some IR remote control functions that I could not get to work but for me they were not showstoppers, but it might be for you. The manual learn functions did not always work for some of my remote controller functions, some functions would just not learn, and some would not work after they were learned. I also could not get the RF function to work with my garage door because the device does not support the 390 MHz my garage door remote requires. ... show more

This product was able to control my 25 year old pioneer surround system I keep in the closet and worked much better than the IR repeater pyramids I had been using plus now I can control this with my voice. Setup had some challenges, I was able to add the device itself with no issues on my Android phone and the device connected just fine on my network that has both 2.4 and 5 on the SSID and is a guest network so that part is great. However when I went to add a new IR device on my S23 Ultra when I would click the button it would just load a white page and nothing else. I tried the app on an older android phone and it did the same thing. I then tried on my ipad mini and it worked perfectly, zero issues adding my pioneer system. Not sure if it's the Smart Life app that is having the issue or the way this company coded the interface in regards to Android. Smart life is a platform and it's on the manufacturers to code the interface so it seems they have some issues with Android. Things I did not like 1.) No AC Adapter in the box, I know this has become standard since greedy Apple removed the charger from the box in the name ofore profits but it's annoying as I'm tired of buying AC adapters when they should be in the box. 2.) This uses Micro-USB instead of USB-C which is annoying as it's a crappy port and most stuff uses USB-C now even the cheaper Chinese products like this is. Weird stuff I noticed on the listing itself 1.) The first photo shows an interface with temperature and humidity but this product has no such feature. 2.) The interface in the photos isn't what the actual interface looks like, it's sort of close but why they wouldn't use an actual image of the interface is odd. Final thing if you use another voice assistant powered by the makers of Android you do get more options in the way of voice line the ability to change the volume and mute. Alexa is very limited Overall it's a solid product and for the price it's good, if they would have included an AC adapter it would have been a great product. Setup on Android is a bit wonky but I will say once you add an IR device via an Apple product the interface then works right on your android product. ... show more
