I bought this and mounted it on the side of my nightstand so that I wouldn’t have to get my phone out every time I wanted to turn lights on and off. It is very intuitive to program on the Govee app and allows you to set 6 different commands to control lights in the same or different rooms. It works on lightbulbs, rope lights, TV immersion lights, etc. I was really impressed with the versatility for an item with such a low price. It has a nice feature where you can select a box to use the same button for on and off commands, which really allows you to program 12 commands. I don’t understand exactly how the distributed gateway works, but it connects to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and has excellent range. One tip I would add is that if you can’t get the remote to power on initially (by long pressing button #1), take the back cover off and remove the plastic tab underneath the battery. This was not in the written instructions, but I found it under troubleshooting online. The back cover is a little difficult to take off and I felt like I was going to break it, but once it popped loose and I pulled the battery tab, it powered on with no problem. The only other thing to note is that the commands don’t work perfectly every time. There is a little lag and sometimes you have to press the button twice. I feel that it is still much easier and quicker than opening the Govee app on your phone.

The media could not be loaded. I bought it mainly because I wanted an easier way to control my TV lights without having to unlock my phone and go to the Govee app and everything. It works amazing and it is really helpful how easy Govee lets you know what you are changing, since you can customise a lot in each button. It is a little slow sometimes (especially when turning on the Film DreamView mode) but is really a small problem compared to what it would take you normally with your phone. The size of the controller is small so it doesn’t disturb almost anything and you can have it in your pocket without any problem (it is almost too small) At the beginning I had some problems opening it for removing the factory seal on the battery since the instructions are a little bit weird but besides that it is an amazing product that works with every Govee product I have Would definitely buy again and maybe even one with more buttons if Govee releases it in the future

For the most part it works without issue every now and then ill press one of the buttons and it either doesn't do anything or is delayed by several seconds. Besides that I have no other complaints, we have it near our bed so we can turn lights on or off if its outside of our scheduled automations and have one set to trigger a sleep schedule on a strand of lights to cause it to gradually dim.

I own dozens of Govee products and these little remotes are the worst thing they've ever made, simply because they do not work reliably AT ALL. Best case scenario, the remote will actually do what you programmed it to do, just with a massive delay. Worst case scenario, it'll do absolutely nothing. Most likely scenario, there will be a long delay and then it will do part of what you programmed it to do but then you'll have to press the same button and wait again for it to hopefully get it right the next time. In the end, it's almost always going to be faster to just go into the app to do things. I got a couple of these to keep on our nightstands so that my gf and I can both easily turn the lights and fan on/off without waking each other up with google voice commands or waking ourselves up by having to fumble around with our phones in the dark. In reality, it has only cause more frustration and disruption instead of less.

I got a couple of these to have a physical control of the lights I have without needing to open up the app every single time. I like to have just a single button to be able to turn off all the smart lights I have in a room since some like the LED strips aren't convenient like something like a lamp is. I also like to have presents on them for just basic white lights per room. It also has the ability to let guests turn on and off lights without needing to share the app with them. Combined with the smart plugs, it makes it really convenient to have something like a lava lamp not need to be at a switched outlet or turn it off without needing to find the cord switch in the dark. I do think these are much more niche and not for everyone, inputs are delayed a bit and it is another thing to keep track of and set up. I like them a lot for what I use them for.

This little remote is so incredibly versatile and easy to use. I use these in different rooms so I can set different scenes. I can turn on the lights and wall outlets with one button and turn down the lights with another button. But also with the same remote, I can turn off some lights, turn down other lights, and turn off wall outlets, all with just one button press. I have several of these, and I love them. This 6 button smart switch is nearly perfect, I just wish the Alternate mode could be used for more than just on/off, but instead could also do brightness 100%/1%. To add even more, I'd like to see support for All-In-One Group Control and Multicolor Plans. That would absolutely make this device.
