The media could not be loaded. Before purchasing this heater, I compared many similar products on Amazon. I picked this one because the design fits well with my home furnishings. I received the product quickly and set it up right away. The frame looks real and the heater heats up my living room quickly. I just wanted an additional heater for auxiliary heat that would be easy to carry from room to room. Item arrived quickly, was kind a easy to assemble. Don’t get toasted first. Looks better than expected. Semi- realistic looking flames. I have had wood-burning fireplaces for over 30 years, so it is really nothing like a real fireplace. I like the look and size of this 23” electric fireplace but it has a few quirks. It was easy to put the four legs on with a drill but it might take some elbow grease without one. I didn’t really care about having a remote since it will be close to me in my basement office but I guess it’s nice to have. I was disappointed to learn that you actually can’t change the thermostat/set temperature on the actual unit though — instead you need the remote. I’m worried about losing the tiny remote and thus losing the ability to set and/or change the temperature. Also with no LED screen on the remote I can’t tell what the temperature is without having to open the fireplace door to see the LED setting on the unit. Kind of pointless. Same with setting the timer. Why put this functionality on the remote if I again have to open the door to see and choose a length of time? The fireplace Controls: power on, timer select, flame on/select setting (3), heater on/off only (which will show you the selected thermostat temperature but you need the remote to change it up or down). The remote has: power on, flame on/select, timer select (but you need to open door to see what duration is selected on the LED screen), heater on, thermostat temperature up & down (but you need to look at the temperature display on the fireplace lol — see attached pic). I still can’t believe they didn’t offer a way to set thermostat temp on the actual fireplace, sans the remote 🤷🏻♀️ Also a heater/fireplace of this size really needs two fan/blower settings to help push the warm air out. In the end it’s a decent fireplace that looks great and will hopefully do an OK job of heating my basement office, I just wish it was a little more thought out for the money. I’ll probably Velcro the remote to the unit so it doesn’t get lost and use it in conjunction with the fireplace’s onboard buttons and LED screen to change settings as needed. ... show more

    • TS23 DOES have a remote. Love this 23 inch fireplace.

I have looked for awhile for an electric fireplace, stove type for my unit. This has everything I could want. I really like the glass being on front and both sides. It is very pretty at night. The remote control on my TS23 works easily and quietly. There is no 'beep' when adjusting heat or flame, turning on or off unit using the remote. The remote uses 2 AAA batteries. It is very well made with heavy metal legs that were straightforward to attach but does take some strength to screw in completely. I have arthritis in my hands and someone put the legs on with little effort in about 10 minutes. The heater works quickly and the flame is as realistic as these electric fireplaces can be. The flames have three positions. You can adjust the temp, flames, set the timer, turn on/off either using the remote or by the panel inside the front door. All is digital. I have not set the timer as yet. The blower is fairly quiet. It can be heard but nothing that detracts from watching tv, listening to music or talking with others. The great thing is the blower clicks off when the it reaches the temperature you choose then cycles on and off to maintain the temp. There was very little 'new' smell when I used it for the first time yesterday. A welcome surprise was finding that by registering my product on the Turbro website there is another year extended to the warranty making it 2 years instead of 1 year. Also Turbro answers questions posted here on Amazon quickly. The first unit I got arrived damaged ( a piece of the bottom corner had broken into several pieces). I called Amazon Customer Service and the next day it was picked up by UPS and a replacement shipped out. This one, I'm happy to say, arrived without a defect (although outside box was mashed). I highly recommend purchasing this item through Amazon. They definitely stand by what they sell. Although this review does not reflect on how this item works, it reflects more on packaging, shipping, and return options. As you can see in the pictures the entire corner was broken when received, if the plastic is that cheap, I'm not sure how well this would hold up. Also, they're were no screws or any method to attach the legs. Also, upon calling Amazon support, they had no way to replace the item. So I had to turn it, and order again. I will probably not order this exact item, as I stated above, if it breaks this easily, I would but trust it would last very long ... show more

We love this little heater. We live in an apartment, so we're really happy it doesn't take up too much space, and it warms the area quickly. The wood stove look and colored flames make the room feel cozier. Would recommend this product.

    • Awful, nonstop clicking noise

The heater works very well, the controls are easy, and the "fire" light display is good, but after just one day of use the light display started making with awful, nonstop clicking noise. When the heat gets turned on it cancels the clicking noise, but with the heat off it's almost impossible to just enjoy the fire display. I'm not very pleased at all. ... show more
