The media could not be loaded. Very attractive unit, suitable for small places; I needed something that would fit under a window to heat up a room that is chillier than the rest of the house because it has many windows and a slider. The controls are located behind the door and are easy and intuitive to use. Some buyers might miss a remote control and a high and low setting but while those things are available on some other units, they come at a higher price. There is no high or low heat output setting but the unit does have a twist thermostat knob setting that shuts the heat off when it reaches the desired temperature. Heat is blown from the bottom so the top stays cool. Now, the area below and in front of the heater where the output blows does get hot. I don't think it would be hot enough to warp vinyl plank but as I am paranoid I stopped at Lowe's and picked up a one-by-two-foot piece of black marble tile that protects the floor and, I dare say, looks pretty sharp. (The tile costs about two dollars.) Again -- I have no idea whether the heat would really have an effect on the vinyl plank but as I just spent a fortune to have the floor installed I'm not in the mood to take chances. There's also a sound setting that imitates the crackling of a fire. It sounds fairly realistic and is actually pleasant to listen to. All-in-all, a good deal for the money and robust enough to quickly heat up a small room. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. 4.5 stars This arrived today and I immediately had to set it up. It was packaged well. The legs have to be screwed on. It has a sturdy three prong plug. Likes: The door opens and has a cute handle. The finish is AMAAAAAZING! The top, sides and back stay cool. It puts out heat! Our furnace has been struggling with some cold temps but this little guy has our 12x16 ft living room super toasty. The flame looks pretty dang realistic from a few feet away. The color is spot on. Thermostat control allows you to “set a temperature” basically meaning it won’t just stay on forever. Dislikes: The heater doesn’t stay on continuously (both a pro and con really) — meaning if you’re sitting in front of it you’ll be toasty one second and cool the next. The fan for the heat only has one setting— meaning you’ll be hot as you know what and then cold when it turns off. Only if you sit right in front of it. Otherwise the fan output is great because it pushes the heat out. Doesn’t matter to me but the “fireplace” can be on without the heat but not the other way around. Also there was no remote control. Crackling sound is sort of goofy but if you close your eyes and imagine a cold breeze and the smell of fire it’s convincing enough ;) Overall I feel like this was a good purchase for us. ... show more

I love my TURBRO Suburbs 20 in. Electric Fireplace Infrared Heater with Crackling Sound! Not only does it provide a cozy and inviting ambiance to my bedroom, but it also keeps me warm during the chilly winter nights. The crackling sound doesn't add as much of a realistic touch as I was hoping it would. I purchased this lil happy for my husbands camp. It is perfect. The flame and sound is very realistic. Also it heats great. I love that u can have any of the features independently. When it’s too warm for heat you can still enjoy the ambiance and sound of a fire. Very sturdy construction… the only thing that I would change is it would be awesome to have a remote control so you could adjust the heat from the couch ... show more

Definitely need power drill for the screws! They are tough for some reason. I love the look of the flames and the whole thing; I also really like that crackling sound! What a cozy bonus 😍 it doesn't have fancy stuff like colored flames or dimming or remote but it's got everything I need: heat, sound, flames, ambiance. We changed our screened in porch to a sunroom, that does not have heating/cooling vents. It is my favorite room in the house and this little heater warms up the room rather quickly. Our one year old grandson loves it too. He can touch it without getting burned. He knows to stay away from the vent underneath. However, the vent blows out the warm/hot air just like a real fire, so that is a deterrent for little hands. Our 14 year old dog likes to sleep in front of it during the day. The "flames" look real and it sounds real. You have to have the heating element on to see and hear the flames. It will overload your circuit breaker if another high energy appliance is being used at the same time. I had the heater on, then went to vacuum. another and my circuit breaker shut off. Even though it was 2 separate rooms, the same circuit was being used. ... show more
