I'm converting my gas fireplace to electric and this 26-in log set is just the right size for the firebox. It really kicks out the heat, I can stand 10 ft away from it and I can feel the air movement from the heat. When shopping for a fireplace, if you want something that is more than decorative, something that contributes to heating your room definitely go with infrared. I've also noticed only infrared electric fireplaces are the ones that seem to have thermostats. I almost spent over $500 on a Dimplex electric log set, but it had no thermostat so you have to either let it run continuously at high or low speed and then shut it off. Noise level - it's not as quiet as a fireplace within a cabinet, but it doesn't really bother me. Flame settings - multiple to choose from with the main variation being the background colors. You can have the lights flicker so that makes it more realistic. The only thing I don't like is that sometimes you have to turn up the thermostat several degrees to get it to go on again and I don't think the room temperature is actually warm enough to call for that. I will mention this is the only 26-in infrared electric log set I was able to find. Wish more manufacturers made the bigger ones. This is probably why this one kicks out more heat than others.

Fits perfect in an existing fireplace. Just plug in a polarized designated 120 volt plug. 6 ft cord . Actually looks better than a real fire. Different color moods. Don’t get rid of your fireplace enhance its look & purpose. It’s heat output is good.

The media could not be loaded. I was going to buy a more expensive piece for our real stone fireplace but devided to give this one a try. We live in South Florida so using the heater option will not be within our plans, we did try it and the fan made a small noise but not loud enough to distract. The flame settings are awesome, I recorded the Polar which includes all colors from blue to orange to red and the flame at its highest. All options are great and the control works perfect. I did paint the bottom front with black acrylic and a small brush to hide the name brand and make the black nicer, that is totally optional. Up to now we really love it and use it every night for ambience. Great buy!

Would have been 5 stars except the cord is way too short and, according to the instructions, you can't safely use an extension cord. Bought it for a rental in Florida, haven't tried the heat.

We needed a replacement insert for our electric fire place, didn’t want to buy a whole new fire place we love our beautiful wooden unit. We looked at a lot of heating inserts before purchasing this one and we love it Heats great and the flames are really pretty. Did not disappoint!!

Very disappointed, easy everything , heat output just ok. But, cord is short and you cannot safely use an ext cord. This was not noted anywhere in the description that I could see otherwise I would have not purchased. my closet outlet is about ten feet away, cord is much shorter. And, when I filed to return I have to pay for shipping, however the company was reasonable and helped cover that. Hopefully they will add this bit of information to the product description because of this safety issue.
