This is a very solid high quality outboard motor stand for the price. I was almost scared off by some of the reviews. After reading many of the reviews and assembling one myself, it’s my opinion that most of these complaints, if not all, were the result of mistakes made during assembly. A few things to note: The instructions do not use any words, only pictures which is pretty standard lately. If you take your time and look at all of the visual clues, it is extremely simple to assemble. Some reviewers claimed they needed to go to a hardware store because of bolts being too short, or drill holes in the steel tubes because they didn’t line up. This was not the case in my experience. The holes drilled in the wooden support are counter sunk and can only be installed in one direction. A few reviewers claimed that the unit fell forward with the weight of their motor. The cart has two large caster wheels in the front. This would only be possible if they reversed the wheels and the front support bar, which would make the cart highly unstable. Also, save yourself a lot of headaches by assembling the cart only hand tight until all components are in place. If you do that, everything will line up and you won’t have to drill any holes like several other reviews claimed. The bottom line is this is a great cart for my 6 HP outboard and could easily handle a substantially larger engine. If you are capable of assembling basic items, this is the product for you. Don’t be scared off by people that have no clue what they are doing and take the time to leave negative reviews that are clearly user error to anyone that owns this item. One thing to note they do not include the hex key you’ll need to tighten down the wooden support bolt. You’ll want to have a hex key set handy to complete.

All parts arrived in excellent condition quickly from Fedx. Numbered Picture instructions. Very stable large tubing. No extra parts. You must take you time installing as everything has its place especially the nuts included. Put together then tighted up. Mount the tires so the larger sides of the wheel base is on the inside causing you to have a gap between the wheels. Makes for a more stable Cart.

I assembled the motor stand and hung my 8 hp Mercury on it today. I'm only 5 foot 10 inches and the stand is, pretty tall. It took a little extra effort to get the motor on the stand. It moves around very easily and seems sturdy. The directions aren't very clear but if you have assembled products in the past, you shouldn't have any issues.

No problem handling my 5 hp Tohatsu. High enough to put a large water bucket under it for my outboard’s initial break-in period. Easy to assemble, but the pictures and instructions could be clearer.

Good deal for the quality of this product. I have only used it for a 6hp Tohatsu, but it seems like it could handle more weight. Holds the engine high enough to work comfortably, and to get a 5 gallon bucket of water under for engine testing. Note that if you tip the engine to an up position n the motor head weight makes the stand unstable. It can tilt forward if you aren't careful.

Sturdy when assembled, tubing gauge feels ample for the job. The board could be thicker but still works for my 6 hp outboard. Instructions are easy to follow but it pays to read through them all before starting - one step isn't clear if you don't know where the caster wheels attach. As others recommend, don't tighten fully until all parts are in place. I used a drill driver (carefully) with a 1/2 inch nut driver and wrench to make quick work of snugging everything down well. Assembly took about 20 minutes. Good value for the $$.

Easy to assemble and works as it should . It is a bit tippy with the small Moyer I have on it. But a shot bag on the bottom foxes that. Larger engines should have no issues.
