  • Solid lens for it's price!
Size: Canon RF mount *: Black
The clarity and sharpness of this lens is amazing! Solid metal body, clicky aperture ring and smooth focus ring, could not go wrong. Used it on a Canon R50 and the shots are phenomenal. Great in low light as well. My only ick about it is the lens cap being a metal screw on. Annoying screech, and takes too much time to remove when in a hurry to capture something. May need to purchase a quick release lens cap separate. ... show more

  • Love it…
Size: Sony E mount *: Silver
Great build quality and love the image. Made out of metal so very sturdy but can be heavy if you are looking to lighten your camera. For the price you can’t beat this lens.

  • TTArtisan makes photography fun again
Size: Fuji X mount *: Black
The 50mm f/1.2 is my third lens purchase from TTArtisan, and I absolutely love it. Is it technically perfect? No, but it's very good and I'm more than happy with the way it renders. If I want technically perfect, I'll grab my Nikon Z8 that I haven't picked up in months. I purchased a great little Fuji XT30 ii, and did not want to invest a ton of money into another brands lenses when I'm so heavily invested in Nikon. My original plan was to purchase old manual adapted lenses for my Fuji on Ebay, garage sales, etc.. Demand has gone through the roof, and people are charging crazy prices for old glass like the Canon FD 50 f1.4. Not to mention you need adapters for each lens, and now the size/bulk gets bigger which is what stopped me from carrying my camera around in the first place. I also own the TTArtisan 23mm f1.4 and 35 Tilt. These inexpensive lenses are fantastic for the price, and more importantly have made photography fun again! I carry my camera EVERYWHERE now, much to the annoyance of my wife. Luckily she understands, and there's no risk of divorce for spending 7-8K on new lenses made by Fuji. The only con for me with this lens is the screw on lens cover. This sharp metal threading is the perfect device to scratch you glass with when you're in a hurry, and a pain in general. Not a big deal at all. Just pick up a $8 lens hood with cap, throw the original back in the box, and you're good to go. ... show more

  • AWESOME budget lens.
Size: Sony E mount *: Black
INCREDIBLE budget lens. Great soft bokeh when aperture fully open. Not too sharp. Built like a tank. Solid purchase.

  • Decent for amateur portraits and subject isolation
Size: M4/3 mount *: Black
I have a GX85 and purchased this lens since I wanted to practice with manual focus and I thought it might be and inexpensive option for taking portrait of the kids every so often. For those purposes, the TTartisan 50mm f1.2 is a decent option. Contrary to some reviews I've seen, this lens is not what I would consider sharp. However, it still produces more than acceptable results when wide open, particularly in the center of the image. The edges aren't great, and the corners are worse. If you stop it down, things improve a bit, but after about f 2.8 I didn't notice much further improvement. While the corners become more acceptable, they never get completely sharp. I think my expectations were set incorrectly by other reviews (even for the APS-C version) which made it sound like it was a "razor sharp" which this lens is definitely not. Quality control may not be great. The first copy I received was really bad in one of the corners, and the replacement had what looks like a small defect in the coating. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to affect the photos in any noticeable way. Quality control aside, I have no complaints on the overall construction which is all metal and heavy. The bad copy had a little trouble locking onto the lens mount, but the replacement was as good as the Panasonic lenses I have. The aperture ring has a nice click and the focus ring is smooth and easy to use even with gloves. With the shallow depth of field, focusing can be a little touchy and I think the lens could benefit from a larger throw. The focus scale is in the general ballpark, but it doesn't seem accurate enough to rely on. Both lenses focused a little past infinity at the infinity marking. It comes with a TTartisan branded metal screw on lens cap and a generic rear lens cap. At first, I was a little disappointed because other reviews made it sound like this lens was sharper than it was. After using it for a little while, I determined I like the lens for what it is. It does have a much shallower depth of field than any other lens I have and the out of focus area is nice and smooth. My only other prime (the Panasonic 25mm 1.8) is a lot more busy/distracting. I think bokeh balls are nice wide open, but they get a little strange shaped (almost like octagons) as you stop the lens down. Overall, you can still get some very nice shots and for someone who isn't going to buy an expensive lens just for portraits this gives me a different look than the kit telephoto zoom. At full price I'm not sure I'd recommend this lens. The Panasonic kit 45-150mm zoom can be regularly had for under $150 which isn't much more. The Panasonic is fully automatic, sharper at 50mm, and a much better all around lens that can get enough separation to take the occasional portrait of a family member. If you are OK with used lenses, I think the Olympus 45mm can be found used for only about $100 more than this lens at full price. If you can grab this lens on sale though, I think it's a much more compelling option. If you understand the limitations of this lens and are interested in what it does do well then even at full price it's a decent option. The attached photos are straight of camera without editing. ... show more

  • Excellent value, but just a good lens, too
Size: Fuji X mount *: Silver
There’s probably not much I could say about this lens that hasn’t already been said. It feels like a quality piece when you open it up, and performs extremely well for the price. If you don’t mind the manual focus and smooth aperture ring, there is no better deal on a lens out there. Just get it.
