Purchased this for a friend who ended up not able to use it. Shortly after that, the ice maker in our frig stopped working and it was going to cost a bundle to replace it. So I pulled out this countertop maker and...voila! ICE! Easy to use, makes enough ice for the two of us (and then some). Our ice maker went out in our freezer so we bought this. It makes ice super quick. The cubes are nice and soft (if you like to eat ice), and they're thick enough to last all day in a Yeti! Super happy with this purchase!!

I bought this for myself for my 22nd birthday, as our fridge/freezer does not support making ice, and I've had a lot of negative experiences with ice machines in the past. I was skeptical of purchasing this product, as generally, "You get what you pay for", as a lot of these reviews will tell you. Regardless, this my absolute favorite gift i've ever gotten myself. I will swear up and down by this thing. I haven't had to clean it or perform any routine maintenance, but the machine is simple to operate, and it has a user-friendly interior layout and interface. The ONE thing I could say about this product is that it's rather large, HOWEVER, I'm someone who likes to always have enough ice on hand, so it makes the perfect amount of ice for me before it fills. The noise level is stunningly low, some people complain that theirs is loud, but they must have bought a different machine, because mine is dead silent. They even warn you on the label "The machine may make loud, unexpected noises", but that's either a funny joke or a disclaimer you can disregard, because this thing is less than 5ft from my head at all times and, being someone who's very sensitive to sound, it doesn't bother me at all. Also, if you clean this product and use it according to the instructions provided, you will have clean, odourless, good-tasting ice, something that's extremely important to me as I'm pretty used to ice with lots of odour and discoloring from freezers with built-in ice machines. Of course, the quality and filtering of your water is the deciding factor, but rest assured that the machine does what it can to keep your ice clean and cold. Overall, 5/5. I don't write reviews. At all. I always thought that if I was gonna write a review it was gonna be for like, a car, or a video game console. Handy, but not as quiet as they claim. There is NO self-cleaning cycle. Within a few months, I noticed 2 small white plastic pieces in my ice basket. Contacted seller, was told machine was fine. Periodical use over last 19mo (1-2 gallon bags of cubes every 10-14 days). Didn't store with water in it. Low humidity location. Yesterday, I set it up to make ice for the next week (gallon bag worth). Suddenly, it cannot lift the cubes to deposit in basket, and both water and full lights flashing. Follow directions on top of unit and it happened again. Emptied it to dispose of it, and 3 more white plastic pieces fell through hole near evaporator arm. Basically, the plastic became brittle and shattered. Don't waste your money folks. There are many other options out there. ... show more

These ice makers are a great addition to our kitchen and some of the best purchases that we have made. They work quickly with no problems. The 9 minute ice it advertises is accurate for sure. Currently our family has two of these, one for the house and one for a cabin and they work great. As a family that uses a lot of ice being able to start this in the morning and just run and empty it throughout the day to supplement the ice maker in our fridge is great. The machine is simple to use, small enough to fit under cabinets when not in use, and is quiet. We have the main one right next to the sink and by using the extendable nozzle or a pitcher topping off the reservoir is a breeze. The ice made is a little wet coming out of the machine when it is full so a simple stir with the current ice in the freezer is all that is needed to keep it from freezing up into a mass when you empty it. Our tap water is good so the ice has no taste at all from the machine. I would recommend this to anyone without a built in ice maker, just get a good storage tub for the finished ice for your freezer and you can have plenty of ice in a couple of hours. ... show more
