I have a RAM 1500 with a 5′ 7″ length bed. I have a utility trailer but sometimes I have a load where I just don’t think I need to bring my trailer – only if my bed was a little longer…So I picked this up for that purpose. I move furniture from time to time like couches, chairs, etc. I am not sure this would be something I would trust for a sleeper bed couch – I think that weight would be too much. Ladders, canoes, and the like I think this would do great. I don’t think this will replace my utility trailer for all my trips, but for picking up a big screen TV, some fence components and a small load of lumber – nothing too heavy, I think this can do the job. From a utilitarian perspective, it might be easier and quicker to just hook up my trailer. But after delivery, this does fold up nicely to fit in my bed and let’s me easily go through a drive through afterward. If you are looking for something to extend your truck bed for lighter loads – I can recommend this for sure.

I ordered this product because in the descriptions it states it has a 800 lbs load capability. Putting it together it did seem to be lightweight construction. The instructions stated "Never exceed the maximum weight capacity of 350 lbs".
