This power strip is very decent. Nice attention to detail. The power led is small, elegant and not blindingly bright. The AC sockets and USB connectors are also of good quality. I tested the USB ports with an electronic load and in fact it does deliver over 4 Amps at 5.07 volts at the port connection less voltage drops across the usb cable( normal). Overall, a very nice, well-designed power strip and at a price point with a lightning deal of 17 bucks is a no-brainer! Take it from me....a hardware design engineer with 40 years of industry experience. Ignore the reviews that claim that this is somehow inferior or unsafe because it lacks a safety cert like UL. I have seen so much crap that has the UL certification and would easily burn you home to the ground. Just because a product does not have a UL CSA or TUV cert does in no way neccessarily make it inferior. This product is Highly recommended. ... show more

I'll start out with what I liked: The whole thing feels "solid". The 4 USB chargers are fast. The plastic is especially hard, and the mounting tabs look like they could survive a moderate drop onto concrete. There are no exterior signs of quality being compromised, but I did not open it up. I have to give this two stars because it has NOT been UL/ETL tested. I would argue (and so would your insurance company) that if there is any fire, it's YOUR fault... insurance won't cover damages from using non-UL devices. I feel a bit deceived here. Brick-and-mortar stores will not TOUCH non-UL equipment because of liability, so why shouldn't Amazon be the same way? (If you're listening, Amazon, at least put a warning - a graphical one so we don't have to read all the "fine print"). I just assumed Amazon was the same. You'll see this is a "Amazon Verified Purchase", $26... I paid to return it. The manufacturer notes in response UL-concerned reviews that they have a "quality" product. This is response is deceptive or evasive, as it's meant to be word salad without actually conceding to the UL concerns. Let's be clear: UL-listed does not "necessarily" indicate quality. UL-does not mean it will "never" break, or that you can't be shipped non-working part. What UL-Listed DOES mean is IF the device fails, it will not risk your property, your life (or the lives of others, such as Fire and Police). UL also means it has been tested to confirm how it behaves if something you plug into it, has failed. You can expect a UL-listed device to fail gracefully without short circuiting and without rapidly combusting. With untested, you do not know what it will do when it fails. If you bought one and don't want to return it, I suggest using it only for temporary installations, such as a portable/rolling cart - used in a way that you can supervise. ... show more

I'm going to be honest, the first one I received from the seller died after about two minutes. I realize that every manufacturer will have a small percentage of their products that fail for some reason or another so I was willing to give the seller a second chance. I contacted the seller through Amazon and immediately received a response and they sent me another Surge Protector Power Bar Strip that arrived in three days. I've been using it now for several days with no complaints. The USB ports charge my phone and ASUS pad rapidly and the standard outlets work great with my floor lamp. This power strip has a lot of nice features, especially the handy USB charging ports, and is well-made. This would earn it five stars except that it has a maximum rated load of 1250 W or 10 A at 110V. Similar power strips are typically rated at 1875 W or 15 A. One factor is probably the power cord. It is thin 18 gauge wire. Heavier 14 gauge wire is typical. What this means is that you need to be careful about the total wattage (or amperage) of what you plug into the strip. Be particularly cautious with high wattage appliances like coffee pots, hair dryers, etc. Especially, anything with a heating element may have a high current draw. USB Port Notes: -The four USB ports have a total maximum output of 4 A. However, this is at 5 V, which is the equivalent of 20 W at 110V, so they are not really a factor in the total power strip load. -Although any one of the USB ports can output a maximum of 2.4 A for very fast charging, the maximum total USB output is 4 A. This means if you use more than 1 port at a time, the output of each will be reduced and charging will be slower. ... show more

So far so good with the power strip. The thing that sets this strip aside from others is the ease of mounting it to the wall or side of a desk, or night stand. It has mounts for screws on the top and bottom of each end so you can easily mount it where you'd like it to be. As I read descriptions for similar items, they either don't have a wall mount option, or they have the hidden ones that you have to line up your hidden screws exactly then hope you can blindly find them when you go to mount it. Aside from the mounts, it works as described. No issues so far. I bought 5 for our office, but will be getting more for bedroom at my house. ... show more

I'm using this for a standing desk with two large monitors and a dock. I have mounted this on the underside of the desk to keep things nice and tidy. this is my second one! (although the first was a different listing. they keep moving it!) i love this power strip. it's astoundingly difficult to find items like this with _no_ starkly colored (black, red, etc) parts. even the switch on this is white, and the light on it is cute instead of overwhelming! i don't even cover it with tape!! and it has so many usb ports which are like....at least as necessary as the regular outlets these days!! it also comes really tastefully packaged which isn't really relevant but is nice. nice matte cardboard and plastic, comes with screws for mounting, etc. get it. ... show more
