This is our family’s third enclosure by this brand. We bought one after adopting our first cat three years ago. Then we got one for my son who has a cat in his apartment. And now we just adopted two kittens so they have one in their designated room. They are sturdy, nice looking, and easy to put together. Doors swing open nicely and stay closed with a magnet in the top center corners. Accessing the litter box inside is easy. It’s roomy, but some extra-large trays might not fit so be sure to measure the trays before buying. Cleaning is convenient. I keep a handheld vacuum close by for litter inside the enclosure that gets kicked out of the tray or for the little bit that they track out by the side doorway. I wipe it with wet paper towel and unscented soap periodically. Let it dry well or the floor might eventually begin to break down. It’s just painted particle board, after all. After assembling it, I kept the doors off and left it empty in the cat’s room for a few days for them to adjust. They explored it going in and out and on top. Then I put their tray in with no doors for 2-3 days, adding the doors one at a time. So after a week, they were completely comfortable using it. I understand that some people have the thoughts that littler boxes should be wide open, but none of our cats seem to have any issue using this. Plus most of the excess litter (as well as the smell) stays in the enclosure. I highly recommend this enclosure. ... show more

This litter box enclosure is great! Took only a little bit over an hour to build and the instructions were easy to follow. I like the way it looks and hopefully my cat will like it too! It would be awesome if the top could open instead of the doors but besides that I really have no complaints.

Im giving it 4 stars because XL isn't really XL. That said it took about 2 hours to put together with an electric screw driver. Instructions weren't great but visually laying everything out first helped. Got it all together added litter box and waited. Showed cats the new box location and waited. After a couple days one is using it regularly. The other cat is a tad bigger so im not sure the openings are comfortable for him. I wish I had known about this type of hide the litterbox sooner. The concept is really cool and no cat box smell. I probably would not have included the 2nd opening on the inside of the box to give them more room, but not disappointed. My cat is 10 years old. She is the lovable, always hugging, laying beside me, even gives kisses!! Then along came the puppy. The puppy is 4 months old now, follows and chases the cat all the time. Decided to get a private toilet for the cat. I was disappointed when the package came, because there wasn't a litter box included, even though it's description says "TRIXIE Pet Products Wooden Pet House X-Large and Litter Box". I ordered a litter box from Amazon and all is well. I just hated spending the extra money. The pet house was very easy to assemble, all parts were included. I installed a movement light so when she entered the pet house she could see. The cabinet is well built and should last a long time. The only thing I can't find is a bed that can go on top. Can't find 29"X17", may have to make one. Would recommend this item to anyone who wants a nice piece of furniture that is actually a litter box!! ... show more

I live in a very small studio apartment, so this looked as if it'd be perfect for my needs. However, prior reviewers weren't wrong when they described it as flimsy. This took a while to put together- specifically because one of the drawer's pre-drilled holes for the screws, was messed up and so the pieces wouldn't stay together. I'm going to have to purchase glue and different screws in order to make the left door work. Secondly, the measurements provided on here really didn't seem accurate to me. Based on what other people commented, the litter box I already own should have fit just fine, since it's fairly small. However, this wasn't true at all. The interior box was much more narrow than I was expecting, so now I need to order a new litter box. I intend to make it work- but I think future buyers should be aware that what you get might need some "fixing" even though it's brand new. If it had been some dents from shipping I wouldn't be quite so disappointed... however the damaged holes were clearly a lack of quality control from the company and I shouldn't have to spend more time/money fixing a brand new item that cost over $100. ... show more
