I have a night stand so I don't need the side pockets, and use them just to place the sheet correctly. I bought this for the color. It is a true, very deep purple and perfect for my comforter. I think it is just polyester, but it is soft. I'm not looking for cooling or warming sheets, just the color and basic softness. These are great. The added elastic straps at the corners also do help, and I've put away the snap on straps I was using before. I still think sheet manufacturers do not take into account the extra side inches needed when a body in actually IN the bed, and they just make them for the tucked-in made bed. I have had countless sheet sets none would stay on my bed. I have a queen mattress and a 4 inch mattress topper. Other sheet sets would advertise deep pocket but none would stay on, I was constantly having to put fitted sheet back on one side or the other. These actually fit. Especially with the price of these sheets, I thought they wouldn't be too high quality but I always wanted sheets with side pockets for my remote, video game controller, etc..the quality of the sheets exceeds expectation bar none but I had to give it a 4 as the pockets are much smaller than they appear in the pictures and barely fit one small remote each :/If you just need cheap, high quality sheets though, these are the best I've come across!! ... show more

I am in love with the design of this fitted sheet with elastic on every corner to hold the sheet even more in place also the fact that it has a pocket on each side makes it even better they could be a little bigger but not a deal breaker at all because it stays in place.
