  • Powerful UPS
Style: Standard Size: 1500VA
Works great, with 2 computers and dual monitors connected. The Amazon description says 7.5 minute run time, but the package says 66 minutes. I wanted the longer runtime - even if only 7.5 minutes - for the luxury of a safe and orderly saving of files and system shutdown, instead of panicking with a shorter runtime. The only problem is the display - it stays on all the time. It would be nice if the display could be turned off, it is nice to see the voltage delivered by the power company. ... show more

  • Excellent buy
Style: Standard Size: 1500VA
I saw this UPS used at my company and has lasted for more than 4 years and this was used as an extra backup for a CCTV server and network appliances. So, I bought it to replace a failed APC UPS and so far I have had about 2 brown outs and 1 trip on my my breaker box. It has held up like a champ and I didn't have to do the Usain Bolt dash to the breaker box trying to save my servers from cutting out and damaging my hard drives. I am looking to purchase another one. I wish it was possible to dim the LCD display but it is a great buy overall. ... show more

  • Several Unexpected Benefits
Style: Standard Size: 900VA
The display can be rotated for tower or horizontal use; the display shows input utility voltage - very helpful when on generator power; and a "Test" mode tells you in advance whether your model/battery will support the combined volt/amps of your devices. Very nice!

  • Off to a rocky start - Listed dimensions are WRONG
Style: Standard Size: 1500VA
Listed dimensions are WRONG Turned unit "off" thinking I was turning it "on". Details of what happened below. Instructions from the quick installation guide on page 3 : STEP 1: Plug the UPS into a properly grounded outlet. After plugging the UPS into a wall outlet, press and hold the POWER BUTTON for one second to turn on the UPS (See Basic Operation Section). Notes : • The UPS will not turn on automatically in the presence of live utility power. --------------------------------------- Really? Notes say "UPS will not turn on automatically"? This is What actually happened below. I plugged it in and the unit turned itself on, as in, all the way on. The online icon was lit, but I was not sure because it says push on button and a beep will sound indicating it is on, this is on page 4 it says when turning the unit on it will beep once. So I pushed the button and it turned off with a beep. So I thought I "turned it on" because in the instructions it does not say the "online icon" will show indication the "unit is on". Second page of instructions same thing. Then down in a section called "optional installation" on the quick installation page 3 it does say something about the online icon indicated the unit is on. Really? Did I just turn this unit off? Thinking I turned it on? Seems so. In all the instructions on any page it says NOTHING about push "on" button and the "online icon" will show the unit is on "in the same sentence", it just says push on button and the unit will beep once. So when you plug it in, as I did, and it comes on all the way, like me you might not realize when you push the on button and it beeps you are actually "turning it off", because it beeps when turning off and turning on via the on button. Well upon further investigation etc, I realized the "online icon" indicated the unit is "ON" as that is kind of obvious it should says that when the unit is all the way on. I think most people will figure this out or with most units when you first plug it in maybe the unit does not turn itself on, actually on with the online icon lit like mine did??? If you buy one of these watch to see if, when initially plugged in, it comes on, or, goes all the way on with the online icon lit like mine did. I do wish the instruction where more clear and said: To turn unit on, Push/hold center on/off button, hear short beep and see the online icon come on confirming the unit is now "ON". all in once sentence just like that. Next: To turn unit off push/hold center on/off button here short beep and the online icon will go off confirming the unit is now "OFF" ---------------------------------------- Second gripe: Dimensions stated in the amazon description are WRONG as of august 2022 when I purchased my unit. Hopefully some one at TRIPP LITE will read this or an amazon person will see this and fix it. Amazon description says: Item Dimensions LxWxH 19.29 x 9 x 11 inches. Upon further research I found this is the unit "box" dimensions. Actual dimensions as stated in the PDF info page: UPS Power Module Dimensions (hwd, in.) 8 x 5.75 x 15.6 - this was confirmed by me with a tape measure. When I measured the actual unit I thought I was cheated and sent a smaller unit so I began checking. The box it came in, and, it did indeed say unit size: 8 x 5.75 x 15.6. also, box did show correct part number for what I ordered. Online research did confirm, yes, 8 x 5.75 x 15.6 are the actual unit dimensions. --- I clicked on the report incorrect product information link, nothing happens, no way to report this dimensional "disinformation". So off to a some what confusing and rocky start with this unit. Really hope things do not go "down hill" from here. I will report back later with updates if needed. Note: I have extensive IT and UPS experience. I have been using these things since the mid 1990's and have bought a lot of them, mostly APC brand. I have had them go bad quickly and others last literally for ever with many battery replacements. I am hoping to have a good experience with the Tripp lite brand. Aside from the confusing instructions I can not fault the unit at all so far. Though just unpacked it and plugged it in. ... ... show more

  • Lots of available power
Style: Standard Size: 1500VA
This is a beast of a UPS. In our sound booth, we have 2 PCs, video mixer, 2 sound boards plus a few networking components plugged into this UPS and only using about 50% of its recommended capacity. We have had a couple of brown-outs and power blinking off issues from our electric grid. Has taken out some equipment, so installed this to help protect from both issues. ... show more

  • My second Tripp Lite UPS
Style: Standard Size: 1500VA
These are good UPS units. I just bought my second one. The nice thing about Tripp Lite's approach to UPS battery failure handling is, when the battery is finally bad and no longer charges, Tripp Lite UPS units will keep working, just with no backup support. With other widely known UPS companies beginning with the letter "A" and ending in "C", when the battery is finally bad the UPS fails to work and leaves you really pissed off. These Tripp Lite units are intended for home or light duty commercial use. If you have a large electrical load, then you need to size the UPS appropriately. ... show more

  • Will not support 200w load when the power goes out.
Style: Standard Size: 900VA
Only had this a little over a week. Bought it for my 3D printer that has a 360w power supply, so the 475w rating on this unit should have been more than enough. Using a watt meter, the actual power usage for my printer maxes out at 350w when first heating things up and then bounces between 60w and 180w while it's printing. So today we had a power blip. Most of my electronics didn't even reset. However, I quickly found that this unit had just shut itself down in the middle of printing a part. When I started it back up it gave me a "fault" error which I guess means the load is too high, but I know that's impossible. So I had it do a self-test (hold down volume button) which reset the fault error and I started the printer back up. Later tonight, I ran a small test print and right near the end of the print, I pulled the plug out of the wall outlet and it immediately shut down again. I restarted it and got the same fault error while using under 200w of power, or less than half the power rating. I contacted Amazon support and they gave me a refund and told me to keep it. Not that it does me any good. I'm not buying another one of these. My APC and even my Amazon Basics UPSs all work fine. Too bad I can't do anything to fix this or even use the battery. Guess it's going to the hazardous waste pile at the local dump. Edit: I opened it up to inspect the electronics to see if something was burnt or poorly soldered and everything looked fine. It will work for low power applications like for a router or a modem, but that's not why I bought it. Either I got a defective unit or their 475w rating is wrong. I also noted that the power supplied while on battery power is very dirty. Lights flicker which may be an issue for any electronics that are sensitive to electric noise or require true sine wave supply. ... show more
