I've used this stuff for years. I now have shoulder length hair but even when I had very short hair and kind of spiked it, it worked well. Since my hair is longer now I spend a good deal of time doing it - drying it, curling it, etc. I want something that will lock in my style without being sticky or stiff. Using this fulfills that - my hair stays bouncy and curly without feeling gunky. Anything that will keep my hair shiny and soft while locking in the style I created is a winner to me - so I can't see giving this up. I've caught both of my sons using this, too, so it definitely isn't sex-specific. There's no real scent to speak of, especially when the hair is dry.
