If you have a trundle bed , you need this. Honest the bed could be new or old , you need this. In my case the trundle bed is older and still used for company or grown grandsons. Nothing to put together, just lay it on top of the springs and put the mattress on it and your done. The hardest part was getting it out of the box. Honest. Due to chronic back pain, I was upgrading my bed & mattress... I had ordered an adjustable base that suggested a bed frame with slats very close together, or a platform bed frame. My frame has slats farther apart than recommended - so I wanted a bunkie board, since this is exactly what they are made for! BUYER BEWARE! This is NOT A SOLID BOARD. At the time I made this purchase, I honestly didn't see any indication that this was not going to be a solid piece of wood with a fabric cover - since then, there have been user questions to clarify. Like this one: _________________________________________________________ Question:How far apart are the slats within the panels? Answer:They're approximately 5" apart within the panels. By manufacture MANUFACTURER on August 3, 2021 _________________________________________________________ So, yes, this is a wooden frame WITH SLATS placed FIVE INCHES APART. Most bed slats that come in an attached bundle or roll are closer together than that!! My current slats are approx. 3" apart, for comparison. Because the product features 1 bunkie board split into 2 pieces (for convenience) - the result of 5" apart slats is that what gets delivered is basically a wooden picture frame with an extra cross piece or two. UPDATE! I just grabbed a tape measure. My wooden frames have 2 cross-pieces spaced NINE and a HALF INCHES APART. I tried to set it up in front of a window to show what the wood frame looked like underneath the fabric. Definitely looks nothing like the pictures of the product on the website - I liked the look of that product and the outer fabric & that was definitely one of the deciding factors that led to my purchase of this "bunkie board" instead of any of the gazillion other options. This product is basically useless for me, and I'm going to have to see if my original slats will be able to support the adjustable base being delivered tomorrow.
