  • What a wonderful heat press!
The media could not be loaded. We purchased this heat press because we have a new grandbaby and are excited to make special shirts, towels and other personalized crafts for him. This heat press was right in our price range and was perfectly sized. We didn’t want anything large and bulky that we couldn’t easily move from space to space in the house. Upon opening, we discovered it was properly packaged to prevent damage in shipment. It was in its original cardboard box, surrounded by form-fitting Styrofoam with plenty of protective air gaps. This box was then put inside a larger box by Amazon with additional protective paper cushioning. No damage was detected even though the package has some weight. Well done! I pulled the press out of the box, pulled off the plastic and set it on the counter where we were going to use it. There are instructions included, however they are slightly lacking. It was easy enough to figure out, but I’ve added a product demonstration video that will hopefully clear up any operational questions and help you understand how to properly use it. I ensured that the pressure setting of the press was set to provide a firm squeeze. This is done by turning the knob at the back of the press handle (counter clockwise to loosen, clockwise to tighten). If you tighten it too much, you’ll know because the handle won’t fully engage and “click” when closing the press. Just loosen it a bit more and you should be fine. The bottom table has a thick padded bottom so there is some give there. When I turned the unit on, the temperature gauge was already measuring 72 degrees which was the exact temp we keep our house at. This would indicate to me that the temp sensor on the press was accurate, at least at that temp. I adjusted the temp and the press heated up to 390 degrees quicker than the manual stated, in only about 12 minutes. We let it heat up the full time stated though so the heat was fully and evenly distributed. Once it was at temp, we set the timer for 30 seconds per the instructions on the decorations. We swung the heat pad out of the way and placed the shirt on the table, making sure everything was in place and smooth. We had been instructed to use a piece of cotton between the press and the shirt prior to heating. The only thing we had was an old cotton “terry” style towel. I recommend not using this though as the small threads on the towel wanted to stick to the decorations when we were removing the towel after heating. It came off with a little careful pulling, but there’s no need to take a chance. Once the towel was in place, I swung the heat pad around so it lined up with the bottom and pulled the handle down until it clicked closed. I then hit the green toggle switch and the timer started counting down. After 30 seconds, it gave a continuous audible beep indicating it was done. I pulled the handle up, swung the heat pad out of the way, and removed the towel. I then turned the shirt inside out and repeated the above process. The decorations were properly adhered and it turned out perfectly. We did a few more shirts right afterwards and the press worked great. I do have one suggestion: Ensure that the surface you placed the press on can withstand heat. As you can see in the video, we had it on our quartz counter top with a board directly underneath. We placed an old glass, heat resistant cutting board at the back of the unit to protect the counter when the heat pad swung around the back of the unit. I’m glad we did as the cutting board was very warm afterwards. Please note that we are not professional users. We just thought this would be fun for us to use on projects for the family. Overall, I highly recommend this unit. It’s very easy to use, compact, adjustable and heated quickly and evenly. Hopefully we can use this for many years to come. ... show more

  • Works good
The heat press works great. Purchased because my vevor 12x10 hand held press is so heavy and bulky to use all the time. This works great for coasters. Book marks, ornaments and other smaller projects. But now I find I really need a larger one for bigger projects. The 9x12 just isn’t quite big enough t-shirts or plaques. I wish it had a number system for the pressure knob. ... show more

  • Great!!
Wow!! I’d been having a lot of trouble with Heat Transfer Vinyl adhering with the cheap iron I have on hand. It just wasn’t sticking. I decided to go with this press because it fit my size requirements, it had good reviews, it was a good price, and it had Prime Shipping. It came the next day, and I’ve been using it nonstop! It works GREAT. It’s easy to use, easy to adjust temperatures, easy to set the time...and most importantly, I haven’t had a single HTV not set since I’ve been using it!! I’m very new to all of this, so I’ve been experimenting with methods and temperatures to get the best results. What I’ve found works well with Cricut HTV on a 50/50 cotton shirt is to press at 340 for 15-20 seconds on the item with no HTV on it. Then VERY CAREFULLY put your HTV in place. Press at 340 for 30 seconds. Flip the item over and press on the reverse side for 30 seconds. Let the item cool for a few seconds (this takes some practice to know how long) then remove the transfer paper. Press again on the front for 30 seconds at 340. I’ve found this works very well for me, but your mileage may vary. I found it was easy to practice with small designs all on the same large shirt. Just keep pressing them on until you find what works for you. One final tip...make sure you’re using something between the heat press and the item. Mine came with a piece of Teflon paper and I’ve found it works great. Once you get your method down, just repeat it every time and enjoy fantastic results!! ... show more

  • Don’t Buy this!!
I ordered this product back in June and I just opened the package assuming that everything was all intact. I opened the box and it was packed in styrofoam but it was broken. It looks like it was placed in the styrofoam broken. Now it’s too late to return it. I trusted that it would be all in one piece. I don’t recommend this item at all!! I give this product zero stars. ... show more

  • Good heat press
Okay so I've had this heat press for a little over a month now. I have pressed probably 200 shirts, both vinyl and sublimation. When I first got it I felt like an idiot when I realized the high pitched squeal this thing was making was because I didn't have the cords attached tightly to the back of the machine. After I fixed that the press worked great! It was so easy to use. Lately, like the last week, it seems as if it's slipping with pressure. I'll press the shirt but then when I go to release it's almost like it's locked. Or it'll be set to a good level, press a shirt and everything is fine, then the next one I do I can't shut the thing becuase the pressure is set so high without me even touching the pressure knob thing. Overall I love it for the money. I haven't had any issues with any thing breaking as I've seen some reviews mention. I do believe this is a good entry-level press and I knew that buying it I'd eventually need to upgrade once I got my shop up and going. For now though it does what I need it to. As far as how it does I can't complain. My shirts come out looking great! ... show more
