OK, I've used this smoker 5 times and now I have an honest outlook. First, this is a very nice smoker. I've never used pellets before and I've never had an electric smoker. I'm happy with both. The pellet feeder works flawlessly. The smoker allows for any possible temp/time variations. It smokes and cooks the food evenly from leg of lamb to vegetables. The cool down function is excellent. The thermometer is a great addition, although I use my own. This smoker is a breeze to clean. So the except part, I would easily give this guy 5 stars if the timer function worked according to the manual. It's a frustrating issue with every attempt so far. Now, I just keep my own time. Also, be prepared to use about 6 pounds of pellets when you initially prime and season the smoker. No big deal as the higher temp requires that. I just would have liked to know ahead of time. Finally, I'm a major football fan and having done tailgating in the past, I'm not feeling this being called a Tailgater. You can fold the legs up to place on a table top or even the tail of a pickup truck. I would never attempt to use this in the rear of a SUV. That's my take. Would I purchase again? Yes. ... show more

best-tasting food I've ever made. Super stupid-proof and durable. I got some recipes from a buddy who runs a competition wood smoker and just swapped in the Traeger - Made my first brisket the first weekend I had it and it was incredible. I've taken this thing to football games (use an inverter or baterry bank to power it), all over Florida, Texas, and South Carolina. I can put my meat on and just come back later without worrying about temp or fire management. It's not the top-of-the-line traeger but I use this for RVing and tailgating anyways - which it is literally the best grill/smoker you can own for those things. ... show more

I loved it for about two months and started having all kinds of issues with it, the temps are extremely inconsistent it will say its 200°f and if use a temp gun or a meater thermometer it will show 300°f+ i do not recommend at all. I tried to return and by the time it started malfunctioning my return window had closed so now im stuck with worthless smoker ... show more

Can’t control smoke exhaust vent because there isn’t on with this model nor does it connect via Bluetooth to the Traeger app controls and notifications like the higher models. Works okay but didn’t live up to the Traeger name.
