I never thought I would have a need for a range extender, but when my new smart devices kept reporting weak signal and often fell off the network, I had no choice. The customizable options allow using the same network SSID or creating a modified name to allow connection through the extender only. Setup was quick and simple, and my devices were able to connect without any issues. I have gig speed fiber for my WiFi. It loses speed significantly as you move farther away from the router. I have a lesser TP-Link extender in my office and it works great. This one is even better. And it handles higher speeds and more data. I needed to get a decent signal in my backyard, the executive washroom near the back door, and especially in my garage. The weak signal in the back yard is much stronger and reaches the edge of the property. The signal in the executive washroom is full strength. And the garage? Went from zero WiFi to a full strength signal. The Ring at the back door has a better signal as well. I bought this for $17 as a used device and I couldn’t be happier.     • AVOID TP-LINK EXTENDERS 3 of 4 bricked within 6 months...seriously!

Purchased the TP-Link RE515X AX1500 on April 1, 2026...guess what? Quit working (bricked). It will not power on. Trashed. Bought TP-Link AC1900 WiFi Range Extender RE550 in December 29, 2025. Worked spotty at best and always had to do a manual connection while roaming around the house. Now it just quit (bricked). Between the 2, I wasted $106.00. It doesn't stop there either. I bought TWO TP-Link AC1200 WiFi Extenders and guess what? One still works, but the other is also a brick. Purchased one on February 26, 2025 (bricked) and the other June 8, 2026..still working, but must do a manual login since the roaming won't work...a common problem. Extenders have been a total waste of time and money for me. I'm not the only one as you can read other reviews. I have used TP-Link for years and have had great success, until I started messing with these extenders. I finally broke out my old tp-link router Archer AX3200 and used it as an Access Point to the main router, the AXE7800 and it is working pretty good, but still have to do the manual switching. It worked fine with my first WiFi box but then when the box was updated the link didn’t work anymore. It would not find the new WiFi connection so it would not link. Tried it every way in the tutorials, the app and with direct cable. Very disappointing.

This is super easy to set up and works exactly as described. I researched Wi-Fi extenders and this one came highly recommended. After just a few days of use I absolutely understand why. I am an Xfinity customer and we have a 3000 square foot house.
