This TAPO magnetic mount security camera was easy to set up and connect to my network and devices. I did have to download an application to each tablet or phone I wanted to use to view the video. The app seems to work well enough. The magnet mount is very strong and holds the camera stable and securely. since it is held by just magnetic force, you should mount it well out of reach to prevent theft of the camera. The camera has variable detection ranges, day and night recording, a motion activated light, and voice and siren alarm capability. The battery is advertised to last for up to a year. My camera has been in use for almost three months and is not yet down to 75%. Battery life will be significantly affected by how often it is activated by motion detectioin. Your battery life may vary. I read online magazine reviews from PC Magazie and others before I ordered this camera. It was highly rated by them and is highly recommended by me. ... show more

Setup was simple and intuitive, the magnetic mount makes installation a breeze, and the 2K QHD video quality is crystal clear — even at night thanks to its excellent night vision. The battery life has been outstanding, and the local storage option gives me peace of mind without needing a subscription.     • Great WIFI camera with good range and features - great value

I tried many outdoor cameras to monitor our garage door over the years. Some of them: - Google Nest had no reception, had to return. - Eufy camera had good reception but 1) the base was constantly losing WIFI connectivity, 2) cameras were not easy to install. I bought this camera as a bundle (with the solar panel), and so far everything works great! We are very happy with it. - Very easy to install, thanks to its magnetic base. - Range is great (only camera so far out of many that has WiFi reception at our garage door) - Although the solar panel only has 3 hours of direct sunlight after 12:30pm (complete shade otherwise), the camera is completely charged by 10 am! The first day the camera had 97% battery at the end of the day, but it as fully charged by noon! For the last week, every night battery goes down to 99%, but it is fully charged in the morning despite the panel being in complete shade. Perfect! - Video quality is great, but suffers at night. But that's because of the light around our garage door that illuminates the area enough that the IR is never activated. I switched to color night mode, and that seems to be a bit better so far. - Cloud service is pretty cheap, and very useful. I think I will end up subscribing to it. Sometimes uploaded videos are not complete, but that's because although it has mostly good wifi reception, sometimes the signal degrades. Locally stored videos are always great. I would say the only downside so far is that device notifications won't include a thumbnail if Cloud service is not activated. I believe all notifications used to have a thumbnail, but they recently changed that. I highly recommend it! ... show more

I mean for the price, you really can’t go wrong here. It’s very feature rich at this price point, and easy to setup/use. The clarity of the picture is also really good and the AI does a nice job at picking things out. The battery life is also stupidly impressive, I honestly don’t know how they did it. The mounting is also unique and handy, especially on the boat. My only gripe is the fact that it doesn’t support continuous recording. I get it would be a big battery draw, but I feel the user should make that decision, not TP-Link. At a minimum, if an external power source was added, the feature should become present. ... show more
