This works with all carriers. The speeds are 5G and full wifi. The bandwidth is consistent and the battery life is well over six hours. To use the ethernet port at full speed, the battery does need to be removed and connected to a charger-other wise it is a great hot spot.

Not impressed with this hotspot so far. I travel worldwide for work. Before this I was using the 5G Hotspot MU5120 by ZTE which I bought during my China trip. It works well and battery lasts for the whole day. When TP Link M8550 came out, I thought it would be better so I ended up buying it. Honestly I think I've wasted my money. Two major issues : 1) Battery only lasts for a few hours even in Power Saving Mode. 2) This is a deal breaker for me. The hotspot gets extremely hot. I sincerely hope it doesn't explode one day. Once it gets hot, the system disables the cellular network so decrease the temperature which is so stupid. Even with the cellular network off,.it gets extremely hot. Google M8550 hot temperature and you will come across a lot of posts where people are fed up with this useless piece of equipment. I suggest staying away for this. Tp link will get banned in USA soon anyways according to the ongoing rumors. ... show more

I'd love to review the features in use, but I contacted my carrier, Verizon and based on the IMEI # they do not support this device on their networks. So instead of adding on a cheap mobile plan, I'll have to look elsewhere and pay a lot more. The features on the device are amazing, and having an ethernet port to plug into a mesh system and an antenna port to boost the signal if you have this indoors is ideal. It's hard to give this 5 stars though if it's advertised as Verizon compatible and Verizon won't allow me to actually use it. I'll re-review this if Verizon adds support, but even if I get it on another network how useful is this to a huge chunk of mobile subscribers on one of the largest US networks? ... show more
