UPDATE A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER: Still my go-to's, but a couple of additional points: - I'm only getting about 5hrs battery life on the buds listening to music (down to 70% after 1.5hrs of use) with ANC on, LDAC off, and 60-70% volume (about 50% volume setting but I've put a V in the equalizer that's boosted at all frequencies, so probably equivalent to flat 60-70% volume). - On the other hand, with ANC off I was above 90% after an hour of use, so if you really need the battery life turn off the ANC (or maybe go to Leisure Mode; I'm guessing that reduces battery usage, but I haven't tested it). - Switching on LDAC disconnects the app from the buds. To get it to reconnect (after I turned LDAC off), one time I had to kill the app and put the buds back in the case, but another time I had to actually reset the buds. Definitely a software bug. ORIGINAL: I'm kind of an earbud junky, so, prior to the X1s, I used 3 pairs of earbuds on a regular basis: - Sony WF-C500 for biking and general use (comfortable, good microphones, very good sound, good app, great battery life, no ANC and a slightly larger case) - Wyze Buds Pro for flights and general use (comfortable, good microphones, great sound, good ANC, super small case, but only about 3 hour battery life) - Lenovo Smart Wireless Earbuds for work (comfortable, decent microphones, good sound, very good multipoint, small case, only about 4 hour battery life on calls) These X1s replace all three of the other earbuds. Pros: - Excellent sound. Download the app, update the earbuds firmware, and look for the sound test in the app. Before I updated, they were a little flat, after updating they sounded much better. I've added a little U-shape to the equalizer to pump the bass and the treble and I love it: plenty of rumble and sub-bass, mids and vocals are clear, treble is clear and bright, and plenty of directionality in the music. - Very good ANC. With a good seal in your ear, low external sounds are just gone and the noise canceling even blocks 75-80% of voices. There is also a wind noise reduction mode in the app, but I haven't biked with them yet to test this (too cold out). - Very good multipoint. Flawless switching between my PC and my phone for calls and music. - LDAC. The majority of my music is at 320kbps, I don't have any FLAC or WAV to test this more completely, but I can hear a slight increase in clarity when I switch from AAC to LDAC, but it also seems to decrease the bass a little and make the treble a little more tinny (maybe different with lossless, YMMV), so I basically don't use LDAC, other than when I was testing it. For those who do use LDAC, this codec is still available when using multipoint (some earbuds with LDAC have to have it switched off for multipoint to function). - Comfortable. Nice shape, decently small, and they come with 6 pairs of different-sized silicone eartips, so you are pretty likely to find a good fit. I've had no problem wearing these for a 2+ hours straight. - Nice case. I have smaller and I have bigger, this one is small enough that I can fit into the coin pocket of my jeans, good enough for me. It's also well built, the earbuds stay in with magnets and the case is held firmly closed with magnets. It also has a really nice display inside, a digital readout shows the % charge of the case and there are 4 bars for each earbud showing the approximate charge of each of them (when they are in the case). - Pretty fast charging. I just checked, the earbuds went from 80% to 100% with 10 minutes in the case. - Plenty of volume. I generally listen to earbuds at 60% or so volume, I'm at about 50% volume with these. - Good battery life. With ANC on, listening to music at about 50% volume, I lose about 20% of the battery after 1.5 hours, so 7-8 hours battery life. With mulitpoint connected to my phone and PC, on calls, I lose about 20% after about an hour, so about 5 hours battery life. With LDAC on, listening to music, I also see about 20% battery usage in an hour. NOTE: if you switch to LDAC and immediately switch back out, it seems to continue to consume battery like your in LDAC mode, so if you want to switch out of LDAC, I would make the change on your phone, then put the earbuds back in the case for a few seconds, then pull them out and start using them. I haven't tested battery life with ANC off or in ambient mode. - Complete touch controls. Play/pause, volume up/down, track skip forward/backward, and ANC on/ambient on/both off are all available from the earbuds. - Ambient mode. It has one, seems okay, but I really just never use this mode. - App. Very slick looking, has about 15 built-in equalizer presets as well as a the ability to set and save custom eqs with 10 bands of +/-5db. Also allows you to customize the touch controls, though I haven't actually played with this, the default controls are good enough for me. As of the 16-Jan app update, there is also a hearing test to customize the sound per your hearing: this is kind of a gimmick, because you cannot use the custom hearing setting and a custom equalizer at the same time, it's one or the other, so I just stick to the eq. Cons: Really, these are pretty small. - When I'm connected to both my PC and my phone and I end a PC Teams call, the earbuds automatically switch back to my phone and start playing music from the last app I was using, even if I wasn't listening to music on my phone directly before the Teams call. No big deal to just pause it. - Sometimes the equalization in the app just defaults back to flat. Kind of annoying, I haven't figured out what triggers it yet, but if the music doesn't sound quite the way you want it to, go into the app and check this. - The touch controls seem to work pretty well, but for some reason after I pause the music with a touch on the earbuds, it always takes me multiple tries to un-pause the music. I don't seem to have any other touch control issues, so this seems like a firmware bug. There is also no confirming sound when you touch the earbuds correctly; I kind of like this feature, it helps "train" me to touch the buds correctly, but I haven't really had any issues besides the un-pause. If you're okay with the price ($150 at the time of writing this review, $135 with a coupon when I purchased them), just buy them, you will be very happy. If you're on more of a budget, check out the other three I mentioned earlier in the review.

I've owned many TOZO products over the years and I’ve always had great experiences with them. When I saw these new TOZO Golden X1 earbuds came out I just new that I needed to give them a try. Now that I have had these for 3 months now I can give a real review and tell you how good I think these headphones are, and let me tell you I was not disappointed at all! In fact these over exceeded my expectations! First and foremost , the design of the buds themselves is very compact and sleek. I like how it is small and light weight and not over bearing like other earbuds that have large portions that stick out of the ear. The earbuds feel really comfortable and the various silicon ear tips that come with the buds allowed me to adjust the headphones to fit my ear perfectly. I’ve mowed my lawn, leaf blew, went on walks and runs, and have yet to had one of these earbuds fall out which is amazing. As far as sound quality, I think these headphones are amazing. I used to use the second generation of the apple AirPods as my everyday headphones and I thought those had the best sound quality but these are immaculate. I compared these Golden X1 to my apple AirPods and even had others test them to and everyone says that these are much clearer and way cheaper. Answering phone calls with these are a breeze and the person on the other line can hear you perfectly. And to top it off the bass on these headphones is excellent. 5 star rating on that!! The case is pretty solid and I love how you can see what each earbuds battery is from the case. I like that better compared to Apple AirPods because I can figure it out by just looking at the case, without having to pull the headphones out. Also lots of companies use different colored lights to indicate charge levels but I love how TOZO simplifies it and just uses number to indicate the charging level which is a tried a true method and easy for everyone to understand. The case also supports wireless charging which is a huge plus as I can use the wireless charger for my phone to charge these. I also forgot to mention that the battery life on the individuals earbuds is fantastic as I can have these in while working an 8 hour shift without these dieing like my Apple AirPods do. Overall, TOZO has done a fabulous job on all of the products especially on these. I 100% recommend these to anyone looking for very high quality headphones at a really reasonable price! TOZO has yet to disappoint.
