Since he is coming from another country, we have been gathering up some of the neccessities he will need for his dorm on this side of the pond. This lamp is rechargeable and can position the light in any number of configurations. It has about 3 lighting settings when you tap on the power button, but you can also hold the power button down and dim it to one's preferred level as well. There is a wireless charger on the base as well for his phone or earbuds. It didn't connect well through my otterbox case but did fine with it out. So it isn't as strong as I would like, but I can live with that. Best of all, it has a usb plug and can plug into a laptop or wall. It folds completely flat so that it is extremely portable, and with its lighter weight, is a breeze to toss into a computer bag and go. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this lamp so far. I've been using it for about 3 days now. It's perfect for by my bed when I want to read at night. The light is bright but not blinding. And I can change it from bright white to a more warm light that's less intense. It's also super lightweight. There are two charging options and I discovered to my delight that my Note 5 can use the wireless charging. I've had this phone for years and I had no idea. There's also a USB charger on the side if your device can't use the wireless charging. That's very convenient. Note that you can't use both charging options at the same time. You have to choose one or the other. But overall I'm very happy with this lamp. ... show more

I gave it all around ones. But not because it's not a great product. So this is the second one I bought because all around I was happy with the product it worked great and they were very convenient however with so after a few weeks the area you tap to power up and pick your light setting wasn't working as good as it was when we first got it. The second one just totally went out in me yesterday. It won't turn on and if you get it to turn on it won't turn off. I understand normal wear and tear of any product but I haven't even had these for 3 months. I will put in a complaint after this review but I know how this goes.. "send it back and we will give you a refund or send a replacement". I don't have time to be doing all that... ... show more

Purchased this mostly because of the wireless charger. Most modern phones can be charged wirelessly. The fact that this had a large wireless pad was the main draw. The awesome light was a secondary feature. Now that I use this in my office, I love that I can change the color temperature of the light. During the day (or when sleepy) I can use the bright white light. In the evenings or when I want to wind down, I can switch to the softer yellowish (incandescent) type of light. The media could not be loaded. LED table light with 3 different adjustments of brightness or color (white high/low and yellow) and is able to dim as you press and hold the button. It works fine as a wireless charger and a usb charger although it's not recommended to use the 3 functions at the same time as the light might get dimmer. I wouldn't say the light itself is super bright but it's sufficient for a desk light especially with those extra features. ... show more

I've had this lamp a few weeks and I like almost everything about it. It's lightweight. It doesn't take up much room on my desk. The three light settings are great. Being able to adjust the angle is great. Wireless charging is great. HOWEVER, the lamp button is positioned in such a way that it's difficult to get the phone situated on the charger. The simplest, most reliable charging position has the phone covering the button, which frequently triggers either the dimming mode or the light to just switch off. It's almost impossible to find a way to place the phone on the charger that still leaves you access to the button. ... show more

So, just after about a week and a half the light out of nowhere flickers on and off. At first I thought it only did it when I was charging my phone but it sporadically does it regardless if I am using the charging feature or not. You can charge your phone on this! No there is no plug it, but just rest it on the platform when the light is on and it will charge your phone. Three different light settings, which are useful for different times of day. I’d say, very easy to put together, only one plug. Worth it for me. And cheap!
