Description

The TOTO® Drake® Two-Piece Elongated 1.28 GPF TORNADO FLUSH® Toilet with CEFIONTECT® is a beautifully designed high profile toilet. The Drake features TOTO’s TORNADO FLUSH®, a rimless, hole-free design with dual-nozzles that creates a centrifugal washing action that assists in rinsing the bowl more efficiently. This version of the TOTO Drake includes CEFIONTECT®, a layer of exceptionally smooth glaze that minimizes waste from sticking to the ceramic. CEFIONTECT, coupled with TORNADO FLUSH, assists to reduce the frequency of toilet cleanings, minimizing the usage of water, harsh chemicals, and time required for cleaning. This version of the Drake has a left-hand chrome trip lever and meets the standards for EPA WaterSense®, and California’s CEC and CALGreen requirements. The Drake bowl and tank set includes a tank to bowl gasket, tank to bowl hardware, and toilet bolt caps. Additional items needed for installation and use must be purchased separately: wax ring, toilet mounting bolts, water supply lines, and toilet seat.

I'm surprised "softness" is a review criteria! LOL. Does the job and I don't need to worry the optics of keeping a plunger in my powder room any longer. Note that you really need to have all 12" of your rough-in to get this in place. I had 11.5" in one location and it would not work.

After putting up with a couple of 35+ year old Mansfield toilets that did not flush well, I ordered this Toto Drake elongated bowl tornado flush model. One thing I wanted was rim height similar to the old ones, as I didn't want the current fad of very tall toilets. This is their "standard" height which is about 15 inches floor to rim, while their "universal" height ones are about 17 inches. Installation is typical. I removed the old one and scraped off the old wax and removed the old bolts and plugged the pipe with a plastic cup while I sanded the wooden floor and varnished it. The next day I installed it. One concern is if the water tap in the wall is too close to center, as the base extends close to the wall which the old ones didn't. But why I am here is to tell about the flush. Its not loud, it doesn't spray up out of the bowl and there are no hidden lips or edges in the rim to trap bacteria. It just works. We have a family member who regularly drop large diameter ordnance and with the builder's grade toilet we had the plunger was called into service daily. Since buying the Toto we haven't needed it once. This toilet is amazing. I have owned 5 different homes in the last 40 years. Toto is the ONLY brand you should consider. Comes in all price range and styles. The flush design is completely different that other brands. No need to leave a toilet plunger next to the toilet anymore.

I had 2 of these put in my remodeled bathrooms about 6 weeks ago. Even though it's a water-saving toilet, the flush is strong and thorough and much briefer than my old toilets' flush time. The bowl does stay surprisingly clean with the water's swirl pattern around the rim. Some reviewers of Toto toilets were concerned that the porcelain lid might fall and break because it sits flush [toilet pun] on top and doesn't overhang. I wanted the 1.6 gallon flush capacity and the standard height bowl. I'm not sold on the higher toilet seats. My darling wife is 5'2" and I understand that higher toilet seats can cause shorter peoples' legs to go to sleep. And remember, if Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody gonna be happy. Instead of buying a 94 dollar plastic slow close Toto seat and lid, I bought an elongated Mayfair enameled wood slow close seat at lid at a 50-60 dollar savings. In my opinion, enameled wood seats are more comfortable and last longer than plastic. The bone color of the seat matches the bone color of the toilet perfectly. ... show more
