The reason I bought this product was because the reviews for service backed behind the product! For me I saw that first hand. Unfortunately after 1 yr of having the product a code continued to pop up, we contacted customer support. Although it had been just over 1 yr for the warranty, they were able to place an extension and sent another air conditioner free of charge. They were very friendly and took into account that the AC unit should definitely have more life to it. I feel my money is valued in this company and would highly recommend. Aside from the service, the product itself is impressive and top of the line! The technology involved is above the rest. The unit has the ability to cool a room very quickly and my electric bill is very low. The machine is quit heavy, and I would recommend keeping the manual to revert back to yearly. The remote control has many functions and the codes in the back of the manual have specific instructions if something is to go wrong. ... show more

This AC was a breeze to install. It cools much better than the rather "ancient" AC that It is replacing. Also, we like the fact that it is much quieter than our old AC. My wife says she can hear something like "rain" inside the unit sometimes when it is running, which reminds me of the important question I have. The model number on the side of this unit is GJC12BR-A6NRNJIA. On the rear of the AC next to a cover with two screws is printed the following: "Removable drain cover on back or side of unit. Do not drill hole in bottom of unit." This is repeated in what I think is Spanish. (See picture) When I tried to find out via the online support if this was a drain hole and whether I should remove the cover from time to time, leave the cover alone, or remove it permanently, I was unable to get the person(s) online to understand what I was talking about. Their final suggestion was that I should contact the manufacturer (which I intend to do later, if necessary, after posting this review). When I posted a question online (to other purchasers) about a drain hole, I received an answer to my question that "this model does not have a drain hole". Apparently, the model that person was referring to was not the same as mine. Question 1: Is this a drain hole or not? Question 2: If it is a covered drain hole, why not indicate what (if anything) to do with the cover? To summarize: We really like the AC, the way it looks, the way it cools. My wife thinks I should mention the sound of "raining" inside the unit. Not sure what to do about the "drain hole" (if that's what it is). Also, the remote seems a bit hesitant at times. I've changed batteries but the remote still hesitates. As long as it continues to work, I guess we can live with a bit of hesitation. ... show more

I'm leaving this review specifically for the customer service aspect of this purchase. However -The AC itself works great! Easy to put the slides on, easy to install in the window, easy instructions. Has a nice sleek, and modern, look. I like that the vents close up completely when the unit is not in use. About a week in the remote stopped working. Not sure what happened, I changed the batteries out, but no dice. I reached out to customer service, not actually thinking I would even hear back from them (because I think we're all a bit used to lack luster customer service generally). I had a response to my email in about 12 hours. Not only did Mason, the customer service rep, immediately ask for my email- I had a tracking number for another remote ASAP. The remote arrived quickly and worked perfectly. To my surprise- Mason followed up again about a week later to make sure the remote solved the problem. I can't remember the last time customer service actually reached out again to double check that the problem had been resolved. I don't know why the remote broke, sometimes stuff just happens. I don't think that is a knock against the company. The AC works great and the customer support is superior. 10 out of 10, will order from them again when the time comes. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Let me start off by saying, this air conditioning unit, is the real deal. My only regret, I wish I would have purchased this unit at the beginning of Summer. I purchased the 10,000 BTU unit, it states it cools up to about 400 square feet, total nonsense. I had a 6,000 BTU unit that cooled down a 700 square foot area. This unit can easily cool down 700 to 1,000 ft. My air conditioning unit is located in my living room, but with the air condition on in the living room, this bad boy will have you under your covers in the bedroom, because it will have your home feeling like a meat locker. As far as the noise level, it is a little loud, but it's not a traditional air conditioning sound, it's just a lot of air coming out of the vents. I'm able to sleep with the air conditioner on with no problem, it's a soothing sound versus hearing a traditional window air condition motor or compressor sound. I have attached a video that will highlight the sound from low to medium to high. I definitely recommend this unit, the installation was easy. I would highly recommend that you have an additional person help you lift the unit into the window, because it is heavy. I will update my review again next summer. ... show more
