Description

This unit is portable enough to be wheeled from room to room to provide cool air wherever you need it most. (The exhaust hose need to be installed) Once child lock function is activated, the remote control will be locked to send any signal to air conditioners. (The control panel is not available) A 24-hour timer gives you complete control over how to run your AC unit. Choose from 0.5-24 hour to automatically power the unit down. The hassle of finding the correct air filter is gone! We equipped this AC with a washable air filter than can be cleaned with simple soap and water. Do I have to install the exhaust hose? Yes, the hot air has to be vented outside through the exhaust hose. If you don’t connect the exhaust hose, your unit will exhaust hot air into the room that you are trying to cool. Do I have to drain the collected water? The internal pan can hold about 0.5L of water. The water will evaporate automatically inside the machine in a less humid area and does not need to drain. In humid areas you may need to install the included drain hose to get rid of the excess water What's the dimensions for the window panel kit? The window panel kit could be adjusted from 9.1 to 61 inches and you could cut the length of the window panel to make the width is the same width as your window. What is the noise level of this unit? The sound level of the TOSOT portable air conditioner is about 49-53 decibels (based on sleep mode and lab standard). You're supposed to hear the normal sound of the compressor running when the unit is working.

I run mine pretty much 24/7 and it is doing amazing! Set up is easy (however does require some assembly ie cutting down pieces). It is a normal AC volume when it runs; mine is in my bedroom and the noise doesn’t bother either of us when we sleep. Keeps the room a nice meat locker cold temperature so sleeping is super comfortable! You do have to make sure that you drain the water out of the the unit (instructions are in the manual so make sure you keep it). I’ve had mine for about a month and I just drained it. It’s fairly easy to do, but keep in mind you will need to drain it outside so the rollers on the unit are great for this mostly, carpet presented some challenges. I haven’t noticed any huge increase in my electric bill (yet) so it seems to be fairly energy efficient. Honestly overall 10/10 recommendation for this unit. ... show more

But rounding up from a 4.5 I settled at 5. Reason why it deserves a 5. It cools quickly and very efficiently and the exhaust hose design doesn't give much way for bleeding hot air from the exhaust all the way through the hose window exit. That was a major issue with my Whynter portable AC due to the design. Reason why I almost rated a 4. This is the loudest compressor kick on out of any portable ac I've ever owned. I've owned a Danby, Frigidaire, Two Whynters and now this one. Took me a long while to get used to it at night. The first few nights it startled me so badly that I had to get earplugs. Yes, once running the compressor noise is not overbearingly loud. But it shakes the whole unit when it kicks on and that may be an absolute deal breaker If you are a light sleeper Overall a solid recommend for a medium room like mine. ... show more

I ordered this because of the “low noise” and the more stylish dark grey color versus all the other A\C that are white. This A\C does the job and keeps my small condo cool, I do feel though it’s only slightly quieter than the older one I had, which this one replaced. Yesterday it was a record breaking 108 degrees in Portland, Or and it worked great!!! Today expected a temp of a 115, so putting it to the test. I’m going to strongly suggest that you DO NOT USE the weather stripping that comes with it!! First of all it was smashed and did not give an even seal, was basically garbage. I went to remove it and it became a huge ordeal, see the pic I included. When I went to remove it it fell apart in a million pieces, I had to buy Goo Gone and spend over an hour painstakingly scraping it off. The weather stripping they sell at Home Depot is so much better and it’s under $5, so I would suggest using that. One other thing that drives me a little crazy with this A/C is that if you adjust the mode or temp up, it shuts off for three minutes, I looked this up on the website and this is how it operates. I purchased this TOSOT 10,000 BTU air conditioner in March 2022 and for 1 year and about 4 months it was fantastic. It operates much better than another unit we have from a different manufacturer. It is quieter, conditions the air faster, and just looks a heck of a lot better. The unit has some very nice features like dual removable mesh dust filters over the condenser coils that are easily removed for cleaning. It also comes with several options for draining condensate from the unit as water condenses out of the air that is being cooled. The window installation works great as well. Recently the unit started making a lot of bad noise which was the compressor failing since it's the only moving component in a vapor-compression cycle air conditioner like this. After a couple of days the compressor entirely failed and the unit would still run the fan but no longer cool the air at all. I thought we were hosed and that we'd have to fork out another $300ish for a new unit but I knew it was a recent purchase so I reached out directly to the TOSOT customer service team. Hands down it was some of the THE BEST customer service I've ever gotten from a company! Really fast responses, clear instructions. They never took longer than 24 hours to respond to me and in fact were so fast that I was the one holding up the process for awhile gathering what they asked for. They asked for a video and some temperature monitoring data to prove that the unit had failed and I was able to provide that along with my invoice and photos of the model & serial # tags. Within 24 hours of sending everything they asked for they already had an entirely NEW unit on it's way to us! We received it last week and it's already set up and providing nice cold air to our master bedroom again! I'm telling you, I normally get fairly poor customer service these days for products but TOSOT knocked it out of the park with how phenomenal they were. I'll be a TOSOT customer for life after this! We purchased this unit during a heatwave in the PNW 2021. We have used it through 4 summer seasons and today is day one on the 5th summer season. We’re in an apartment that is twice the size for the amount of BTU’s this unit is recommended for. We didn’t have much of a choice when the heatwave hit us in 2021, everything was sold out. Reviews for this unit weren’t promising, but again. We didn’t have a choice. We do keep a good fan in front of it when we need directional cooling. Other than that, this thing kicks all on its own. If we’re ever in the market to purchase another a/c unit. We fully intend on getting the same brand. Maximum cool, sleek design and appearance, fully functional unit. ... show more

Alright, so I got this thing because the one I have, though functional, started making a horrible chirping and squealing sound. This one is quiet when it runs, but man, it just does not run. Instead of running at the target temperature, it automatically sets itself to a higher temperature and will not turn on. I don't know who that that was a good idea, but he whole point of the thing is too cool at the temperature one sets it to. Then, when it does run, the water fills up within five minutes and shuts off, even if you have a hose for continuous drain. Mind you, it was set to cool, not to dry. And yes, I checked several times. Customer service was prompt, but they gave me a long winded explanation as to why the thing not running as it should is actually a feature. I'd laugh if I weren't so angry. This product looks pretty but it is a terrible disappointment. Save yourself some time and money, unless you're stuffing this thing in a garage. This will keep you up at night if you try running it in your room. ... show more

I like that it works and cools my large bedroom. I don't like how noisy it is and how often it turns on and off especially while I'm trying to sleep. I also don't like how little instruction videos for assembly or helpful information is available as it was very complicated and two of us were working on it. I also don't like how complicated it was to put together, I even had to duck tape the hose amd window assembly together, which is ridiculous for the expense! ... show more

Bought this when my central unit broke. It quickly brought my entire downstairs living room/kitchen area from 85 to 68F in less than an hour. It can be sorta loud but you get used to it. Easy to install. I alternate between dehumidifier and cool, with the dehumidifier going at night - the air is still cold when on dehum mode. I haven’t had to drain the water even though a drain hose hookup is present. I did drain it once just for kicks and it sucks a don of water out of the air overnight. I’ve ran it almost 24/7 for going on 2mos and no complaints. I did have issues with the hose falling but I realized I installed it wrong and once corrected no further issues. It is BIG and HEAVY but gets the job done. My main complaint is that the hose itself is pretty thin and flimsy and HOT. I mean if you stick your hand on the hose it might burn you. It radiates heat. If I could replace the vent hose with something thicker with more insulation it would be perfect. But honestly for the price and convenience and ease of installation I don’t mind. I’m not allowed to install window units where I am and this was a great alternative. I am going to purchase 1-2 more for my office/bedroom upstairs. This one is too big to go in my office so will likely find a smaller/less BTU model to use there. My 700sqft second floor bedroom/office has exactly one vent from the central AC system that is a 40-60yr old build and even when the central unit worked, my office is baked by the sun and I spend all summer sweating even with the AC set at 68 (it runs at least 10-15 degrees hotter upstairs due to heat rising, poor insulation, and frankly insufficient central air circulation) so I will install a second unit up there and also update my review once it’s been going for a couple months.
