My review in short: Absolutely love this! Great quality once you learn how to use it, which isn't difficult. Disclaimer #1: This toaster oven DOES preheat, however not in the way a typical kitchen oven does. For example, once you select your heating option, temperature, and press "start" the temperature number on the screen will begin to blink continuously and the heating coils will begin to turn red as it heats up. Once the unit gets to the desired temperature the temperature number will stop blinking and the coils will turn off and now the unit will be ready for food to be put in as you would in a standard kitchen oven. Just know that there will be no "beep" or sound to notify you of this, only the blinking of the temperature number, so you have to pay attention. Once you place your food inside you'll then need to readjust your cooking time to your desired time frame as the cooking time unfortunately has to run while the toaster preheats. Small issue, so no big deal. Disclaimer #2: If I were you I would use to the cooking tray that comes with this unit to put my food on to cook. This definitely helps in keeping this toaster oven clean and preventing anything falling to the bottom and potentially burning or starting a fire. Also, if you do use the tray I would cover it with either a sheet of parchment paper or line it with aluminum foil for each cook. This helps making clean up easier. I did notice that the tray, for some reason rusted a little bit after a few uses. Since I have been lining the tray with aluminum foil and/or parchment paper the rusting has stopped. So just something to keep in mind. Disclaimer #3: This unit can get HOT. Storing things on top of this unit while the unit is cooking is a bad idea and guaranteed to burn. I would say that anything within 6 inches of the sides, rear or on top of the unit will melt/burn while it's cooking. Cooking ability/Usage: I needed a toaster oven so I wouldn't have to keep using my kitchen oven. I haven't had any issues in foods not cooking thoroughly. So far everything has cooked great. I literally cook or reheat most foods in here. Thanks to the low temperature setting I have even cooked ribs in here. I have also cooked my Thanksgiving whole turkey breast in here. Size: Great compact size for cooking decent sized foods. For toast, I'd say you'd probably be able to cook 4-6 slices of regular sized bread in here at one time. Notifications: As I said in my "Disclaimer #1" section, this unit does preheat, but it will not alert you with a sound once it has reached the desired temperature. The temperature number that was selected will simply stop blinking. However, it does notify you with a beep once the selected cooking time has ended with 3-4 decent volume beeps. This unit will also beep once every time you plug it in as it turns on. Definitely will be loud in a quiet house. Cooking Settings: This unit comes with 10 different settings which cover a wide variety of cooking options like "Toast", "Pizza", "Cookies", "Broil", "Bake", "Rotisserie" which by the way, also comes with a rotisserie spit and will spin the meat as it's cooked, "Convection", "Keep Warm", "Defrost", and "Reheat". There are also signs on the unit door that instruct the user on best locations to put the rack for each setting for best cooking outcome. Overall: I give this unit a 5 out of 5 for my usage. It definitely beats having to waste money using my big kitchen oven for small cooking usage. I would highly recommend.

I love this toaster oven! After more than 5 years of searching for a good quality toaster oven both in stores and online, and being continually disappointed by how tinny and cheaply made most of them seemed to be even at 3 times the cost of this Toshiba, I'd spotted this one on Amazon and decided in desperation to take a chance on it due to the many good reviews it already had. I've not regretted that impulse for as much as a moment, and have thoroughly enjoyed using this toaster oven. It looks great on my counter, is more sturdy than any toaster ovens I had looked at in stores for MANY years, and works great! Since I already had both a built-in Wolf convection wall oven and a built-in Wolf convection microwave oven, I hadn't cared whether the toaster oven had a convection feature or not, but am now glad it did, because I use that feature a great deal more often than I'd ever thought I would. As with most toaster ovens, the exterior of this one does get hot, but not frightenly so. I'd purchased a black silicone 9x12" mat from Amazon to place on the top of it to diffuse some of the heat from rising to the cabinets above, but mainly so I could place a couple of extra toaster oven pans on it when the oven was in use--when not in use, I store the clean nested pans in the toaster oven. (Amazon has some great options available for extra stainless steel toaster oven pans, and a 12x10x1" is a bit larger than the standard pans for this size toaster oven, but fits it perfectly.) I'd read one review by someone who'd returned their oven because the display sometimes fogged a little with steam when the convection feature was used. It does do that slightly, but the display remains clear enough to see even when it does, it also clears up again as soon as the oven cools, and has not negatively affected the operation of the oven whatsoever in the 2 years that I've been using mine. I truly love this toaster oven! This Toshiba actually surpasses the former great toaster oven it had taken me years to find this replacement for, since the design of it, especially the sturdy base of it, is far superior to the old one I'd had for more than 20 years. That one had been a quality toaster oven also, and had still been working like a champ, but it's one design flaw had been that one of the legs on it had broken, and I'd grown tired of crazy gluing it back on every few months or so, yet couldn't find any new ones in stores that had been nearly as good as my old one--until finding this Toshiba! This Toshiba actually exceeded my expectations in every way, and I have been delighted with it since the very moment of taking it out of the box, because the quality and design of it had not only surpassed the much favored old toaster oven I'd liked so well, but also the design and quality of the many, many others I had looked at in all sorts of stores over the years, too. I'd expected I'd likely have to resign myself to settling for a toaster oven somewhat inferior to the one I had enjoyed using for many years, so opening the box to discover that this Toshiba was vastly superior to any others I had seen was a nearly transcendent experience. If you've suffered through trying to replace any good quality small kitchen appliance in the past decade or so, you'll certainly understand what I mean. All too often one has to end up settling for appliances that are more cheaply made, cease to work after only a few months, or don't work at all right out of the box! I'll be keeping the Toshiba brand in mind when making any future purchases, because I could not have been more pleased with the purchase of this toaster oven!

Bought this based on America's Test Kitchen "Best Buy" rating. If you can get it around $100, it is a good option to save money, but much more than that and my star rating would drop! There are a number of irritating things that offset just about every good point. Unless you really want to save the $$, we do not recommend this unit. First the good things: It looks good, and is easy to use. It makes excellent toast, evenly browned on both sides (but it is considerably slower than a dedicated toaster). The temperature seems to be at or a bit higher than the setting displayed, but the heating can be quite aggressive from the top elements. While this seems to work well for making toast, it causes the top of a bread loaf to get overly brown VERY quickly. It comes with a removable crumb tray (good), but it is INSIDE the oven instead of below it (bad). And to make it worse, the tray is virtually flat, without any real depression in it to catch and hold any grease or liquids that might get down there. That means that some of that goo is going to run off the drip tray onto the bottom of the oven below the heating elements where cleaning will be hard. Oddly enough, that aggressive top element is totally worthless on the Broil setting, since the thing is STUPIDLY limited to 350 degrees on Broil! This means that if you really want to use the broiler, you must select Bake instead, just to keep the top burner on! And the thin little single rack included with the over is a big disappointment. Of possibly bigger concern it how hot the front door gets in use. This seems a bit harder to explain, since any toaster oven is going to get hot there, but compared to our last one, this is both hotter AND the handle placement seems to make it easier to accidentally touch the hot surface. And just a short comment on the totally WORTHLESS user's manual - absolutely nothing in that little sheet that tells you anything at all. We couldn't even figure out what some of the included attachments were actually for without considerable experimentation. The rotisserie seems to be a nice plus that other toaster ovens do not have, but in reality, we probably will never use it. I got this oven at a bit under $100, so I am satisfied even with the flaws, but if I had paid much more, I would return it and buy a better one.

I would give this toaster oven 10 stars! I bought this almost 5 years ago because my previous (other brand) toaster oven gave out on me. I was just mainly looking for one large enough for my husband’s frozen pizzas. Recently, within the last year discovered it has a defrost and reheat function. We immediately switched from using our microwave to the toaster oven for those two functions. Sure, it takes a little longer, but we just plan a little ahead and feel healthier for it. We no longer use our microwave. I love this oven, I have had no problems with it and would buy again.

This is the same toaster oven previously offered by hOmeLabs (yes, that’s how they spelled it) and at a slightly lower price. I had been looking for a toaster oven with a rotisserie and in particular, for this model but they apparently no longer made it. I was excited to see Toshiba now offers it under their brand name. Pros: does just about everything it claims. For the price it can’t be beat. Would definitely recommend this toaster oven. Controls are super simple to use. It has numerous settings, there’s bound to be one for what you need. Cons: Directions are a bit weak. You kinda have to figure out how things go together (hint, little bump out on baking rack seems to work best facing the back of the oven) but I managed and I’m a dummy, so y’all should have no issues. This thing gets hot on the outside. Like hot enough that you don’t want anything that could potentially melt, touching it. In other words, it will burn you (just like a regular toaster)! It claims to handle up to a 5lb chicken on the rotisserie. Perhaps that’s true. The 5.2lb chicken I tried didn’t quite work out. The tips of the wings hit the elements and drip pan (and yes, I tied the legs and wings down). Also, the directions don’t show how to orient the drip pan when doing the rotisserie. If you set the baking rack on the lowest level with the drip pan, there’s no where near enough room for a 5lb bird. I had to rest the rack and drip pan on the lower elements to make room, and I’m really not fond of putting anything on the elements (even though the bottom elements don’t come on in the rotisserie mode). I ended up baking that chicken and it turned out beautifully. In the future I will use the rotisserie for game hens and turkey breasts. It claimed to cook a 12 inch pizza. By my measurements it’s 11-3/4 inches front to back inside. It may still cook a 12 inch pizza but if you plan to utilize a 12 inch pizza pan, it may not fit. You can only cook an item a maximum of 2 hours (in certain modes, like bake). That should be plenty, but some model of ovens let you select an infinite time if desired (I don’t see this as a big issue). Lesson learned: There is a “pizza mode” but it works best for fresh (unfrozen) pizzas. Frozen pizzas don’t get completely cooked (because in “Pizza mode”, it uses convection and the outside cooks too quickly). Frozen pizzas should be cooked using the typical “baking mode”. Although there are more cons than pros in my review, there is no such thing as a perfect appliance, but this one comes pretty close. I have no regrets about the purchase and would do it again.

Well, after just shy of 3 years of nearly daily use I replaced this Toshiba model with exactly the same model. I like it that much. Price for this model stayed the same while the 1700w increased. I only bought a new one because it had been used so múch that grease was beginning to seep out onto the knobs and buttons. I didn't want a fire to occur. Prior to Toshiba I was using a B&D large toaster oven which broke after exactly 10 moths. Bought another and broke again. Decided to go to Amazon and order something different. Came across this Toshiba and glad I did. I love this toaster oven. Wish I bought this model much sooner. Interior is smaller than I expected, but a 12" pizza will fit and top to bottom there is 3 rack levels so tall items fit well. Also the ability to cook a self rising pizza and still have a small footprint is great. No issues whatsoever and pizzas cook w/o having to reach in and spin 180 degrees mid way cooking. Cooks evenly. Toast, Chicken, rolls, cookies, Rising Crust Pizza, mini stromboli, chicken breasts, all cook perfectly after figuring out what temps and times. Haven't used the rotisserie and likely won't. Again, we use this daily 95% of the time. We now don't use our actual home oven but once every few months. That is how GOOD this toaster oven is! Can do so much better and so much more than a toaster oven with only dials. I will never go back to the cheap dial ovens which break every year on cue. This Toshiba is probably the best toaster oven you can get under $200+. There are quite a few other convection toaster oven that are digital too with a similar look\size but cost $50+ more. And there are air dryers that are bigger but know what footprint you wanna take up.i would never use the air dryer function so that doesn't interest me. Temperature seems spot on. Goes up to 450 and has a broil function\setting. I highly recommend this fantastic little oven.

This oven is a replacement for my old Kenmore, whose knobs had broken off. I like that it is not too big for the counter that I have, seems to cook evenly, and is relatively quiet in operation. About the noise factor, the on-off button emits a piercing BEEP just like a single blast from a smoke alarm. I brace myself for this, and back away when I push it. The convection fan is a background noise that I cannot hear when the fridge is running. Once the oven gets up to temperature it makes a click-then-clack noise which I guess is a relay turning the elements on and off, not obnoxious, just lets me know it is working. The temperature knob has a place when turning where it kind of sticks, the crumb tray was warped but was easy to bend into shape. Overall I am pleased with it, very versatile in operation, roomy, mostly quiet. I wish I could get an extra rack for it, but it is a 13 inch rack, not standard. On the plus side it you measure carefully you can find a quarter sheet pan that will slide into the rack slots. The baking pan that comes with it seems to be some kind of anodized nonstick, it cleans up easily. What I would wish for in the future is an oven light, I am always peering into it with a flashlight to check the browning. If this oven hangs in there for the long run I will be happy, I think I got a lot for the money.

The oven looks very nice and overall cooks well, especially on convection bake. I was able to rise bread in it in about 15 mins on the keep warm setting! Toast has many settings, but overall it toasts lighter than dark. It has some issues: 1) The door doesn't open all the way so if trying to pull out rack on bottom rails, you can burn your hand if not wearing a total cover glove. 2) It needs another rack or at least a baking/drip pan that can sit on the lower rails to make it more useable. Its extremely hard to find these for this size aftermarket. Toshiba says they are "Out of Stock". It would be nice to have mesh racks for dehydrating too! 3) I would like to be able to cook without presets and have a timer that can "stay on" to cook things longer. I was trying to dehydrate some fruits (which it did better than my last convection toaster oven) and I had to stay up late to keep turning the timer back on! Presets are limiting and the longest timer setting is 120 mins. 4) The rotisserie had a tiny 2.5 pound chicken tied tightly on the spit that dragged on the pan on the lowest rail, adding resistance to the rotisserie spit and may cause early failure? A 3.5 pound chicken knocked the spit off the rotisserie from dragging on the bottom! The rotisserie is unusable in my opinion for even small chickens, unless you get rid of the bottom rack and pan and use foil on the bottom to catch all the grease. What a cleaning mess that could be! the rotisserie should have been positioned a little higher or add a recessed rack/drip pan for bottom rails to make it fit right. I am highly disappointed in this, as I bought this oven because it had a rotisserie and was medium sized. Although I kind of liked the way the oven cooks on convection and broil, I think there may be better choices out there for a convection oven with a rotisserie. Consumer Reports rates in in the middle, 49 out of 100 points. Durability is unknown for this model or Toshiba brand ovens in general.
